i do agree with most of what has been said above GENERALLY.
have to say though, you get all sorts of people going on holiday abroad these days!! theres nothing to say they arn't decent people!!! i'm not sugesting that the greeks are a problem particularly, and i'm not saying you can't trust most people, but it is always likely, you will find some undesirables where ever you go!!!
bottom line is, always be carful wherever you are!! |

It is as safe as anywhere else as long as she takes care and when out at night has someone eles with her and watch what she is drinking |

I have been to Kos... it is a really safe place! There are lots of beautiful places. I stayed in a place called Psalidi which was lovely.
However, Kardamena is the 'clubbing' place. It's a bit dodgy there, so check where she is staying. |

I am 19 and have been to Kos twice. I went once with friends (last year) and with family around 6 years ago. I have never had any problems, I had just turned 18 when I went with friends and had the most amazing time - as long as you're daughter uses common sense she should be ok.
It generally feels very safe in Greece, there are tonnes of Police officers and they are constantly patrolling so the area generally feels safe. Theres also tonnes of teenagers in Kos over the summer months so you're daughter will definitely not be alone. |

I am from Kos...It is a wonderful Island and it is safe. People are very Hospitable and she will have the time of her life if she asks around for fun |

Kos is very safe. Don't worry, I think you're over-reacting. |

It's the people that make a place safe or unsafe and you'll find good ones and bad ones wherever you go. The police are well trained and numerous there. She'll be fine as long as she is sensible in who she talks to and where she goes. As awkward as it might be, remember to remind her about the importance of protected sex. |

Kos is safe if you are wondering about crime.
But I must warn you that British teenagers who go there usually get really drunk, hire motorbikes and generally do silly things. So I would worry and maybe wouldn't let her go, but not because of Kos, but because I would worry that she would get really drunk and get in the sea or just get alcohol poisoning, or that she may have a motorbike accident, or get raped by another drunk teenager.
Apart from those, Kos is wonderful, it has amazing beaches, good food, interesting monuments, etc. Why don't you go there too? She will be with her friends, but you will be around and check on her a bit. And you will have the time of your life!!! |

Yes, of course it's safe and a very good destination for a teen. It's not that overcrouded and it's very cheap (cheaper prices than even mainland).
Don't worry. |

It should be safe. Since she's 17 years old hopefully she is old enough to take care of herself and she is smart enough not to do stupid things. But other than that I think its pretty safe. |
