What the weather is like in Malta - Well .................

The climate in Malta is generally warm and moderate. It is an ideal location for breaks from the often long and harsh European winters. There are no biting winds, fog, snow, or frost. Rain falls for only short periods and averages about 578 mm in a whole year.

The temperature averages 14.1° C in winter (Nov-April) and 32° C in summer (May-Oct).
The sun shines for an average of 6.46 hrs each day in winter and 10.11 hrs in summer.
The hottest period is from mid July to mid September.

It´s warmer than the UK but at least you get to see something different - If you decide the temps are ok for you - you must drive out to Buggiba and Golden Sands also if you get the chance go and visit the little Island of Gozo next door!

Merry Christmas!

I had a really great cheesy holiday in Malta at the end of November one year. I loved it because I don't like crowds of people. In the winter months most of the activities will be closed in Malta, but the scenery is nice and if you have a car there are a few nice places to explore. You wont be able to sunbathe, and I remember one day was very rainy and blustery, so I would expect it to be like that in January, but a couple of days we just had t-shirts and trousers on.

It is a friendly place, and there are some museums and art places in Valletta so if the weather is bad you can go there. There is a film studio as well, and you can get a ferry over to Gozo which actually seemed more busy in winter than Malta. I would recommend it, but I don't generally like holidays that the majority of the population do. Take a good book and enjoy the slower pace of life.

Depends if you like the sun if so there will be little sunshine, the weather will be alittle warmer than here but not very much, expect rain and winds, tends to warm up from april onwards.
Spent christmas there some years ago, cold wet and windy, might as well been at home not very pleasant sightseeing

I went a few years back £85 for the week which sounds a bargain doesn't it, it wasn't! Don't bother its bleak, cool and closed!
try Benidorm Spain, still a bit of life there even out of season.

i live here now. Today is the first day in 7 thats been half way decent. Its been raining off and on for days with strong winds and lots of dampness. Considering that the buildings here do not have central heat and the weather outside is damp, chilly and wet its pretty uncomfortable in winter. Most of the fun things to do are closed for winter months and what little there is left isnt that great at this time of year. I would find a happier place to spend my money. If it wouldnt be for the fact that I had a lot of expense this year I would be gone from Malta for the winter months. Boring, cold and expect to get overcharged for most everthing!(Im here only due to husbands contract, otherwise we would have left already)

drlplate
i went there in summer season. it was bleak. you are going there in winter season.

good luck

Malta is one of the most Godawful place I have ever had the misfortune to visit. There are packs of vicious stray dogs everywhere which follow you. It's cheap but there are pickpockets.

STAY AWAY !!!
