Michael, aren't you mildly bored of issuing the same question with different wording over again.

If we all say "yes yes yes" and run around jumping excitedly and then 'virtually' pat you on the back for consistently attacking your own nationality and having a lack of pride...... will you then cease and then try to issue questions about more imaginative topics?

(I doubt it,but it's worth asking)

Michael F46, your highness, we know that a certain amount of class consciousness exist in the U.K but even the aristocrats and the members of the elite don't criticize or humiliate their fellow countrymen like you do.
Do you read so many novels about the 1700's England? What kind of a lofty ego you have?
Can you please be so humble to explain us What's wrong with fish&chips and Guiness?

Totally Blunt
I like fish, but I prefer Efes with it.

Ive been there and don't think it as any character at all. What you describe is places such as Marmaris or Gumbet.

Are you having a laugh? I have been to Ovacik many times over the last 7 years and yes it has developed and expanded to the quiet little village it used to be but I'm still yet to have fish and chips! As for guiness they only discovered dark efes 2 years ago!

Why don't you try going to one of the more developed areas like Bodrum? It's a really nice place with nightlife, good beaches and hotels!

Sounds to me like you don’t know where you have been. I have been going to Ovacik (oveycheck) for around 15 years and up until May this year there wasn’t a curry house to be found.
Ovacik is full of private apartments and villas, small hotels, some small restaurants and shops. Best of all are the friendly people and the breathtaking mountain views of Babadag that are at the start of the lyceum way, take this 3 hour walk down to the beautiful bay of Oludeniz and your life will be changed forever.

I think you are talking about Hisaronu (hissaranoo), some call this English village for obvious reasons and would explain your comment, they are very close together but worlds apart.
For some Hisaronu is a great place if you want lots of restaurants, night life and fun party’s. Personally I am too old for all that but I was young once, happy days.
Try the Lemon Tree for great food in a pleasant atmosphere.
Not only is Ovacik a great place to stay but within a 15 minute Dolmus bus ride you are on the beach of Oludeniz with the Blue Lagoon, this is shown on all Turkish holiday adverts. In the other direction is the beautiful harbor of Fethiye with its old town bustling with shops and restaurants of all kinds, if you go here try to get of the main strip and see the real turkey. Try the Lokantas restaurants for good value food, this is where the Turkish people eat.
From Fethiye you can walk (2hrs) the promenade around the harbour to Calis (challis) beach resort or for the less energetic take the Dolmus boat across the harbour.
One word of warning! If you go to any area of turkey in the hot weather beware of swimming pools in large hotels, nearly every person I have met that has had a tummy upset has spent a lot of time in the pool. Everyone we know has never had a problem with the food or drink (bearing in mind we eat in real Turkish restaurants) but we do not go in large swimming pools.
Hope this gives a more informed idea of the area.

wats wrong with fish and chips and guinness? that sounds great!! and have you ever been to the UK? pretty much everywhere is like that. so if thats the worst place in turkey according to you thne we're right on par, if not better than a first world nation. yay!
and hey if you dont like it, then dont go there. maybe tryo cesme, or fethiye, or bodrum or antalya instead. they are more touristy and you'll like it more. they have beautiful structures, beautiful beaches, great nighgtlife, and u can find more than just guinness and they have kebabs too.
