First of all, everyone who thinks that Serbia is not safe for foreigners or visitors, is a fool, and he/she has apsolutely no right! Than, Serbians are not mean, and I wonder where did anyone hear that from! People, who has actually been to Serbia, know that we are very friendly and pleasant nation, who is always willing to help, especially foreigners! I just wonder where that 'girl' who said that Serbians are mean is from.
But never mind, everyone is allowed to have it's own opinion. And so are you, and because you wish to visit Serbia and your friend i will give you some proper informations about Serbia, not like "Serbians are mean"!
Serbia is one of the best places in Europe if you like going out! Every single day and night, streets, clubs and discos are full of people enjoyingand having fun with their friends. Than, if you are a shopping addict, Serbia is the right place for you. Everything is very cheap, especially for American profits. There are also many places to visit in Serbia, and its history is as beautiful as English if you are a history lover. These are just the basics. If you want some more informations or details, you can contact me at jovandjukic@yahoo.com! And YES it's very safe. |

Hey, don't believe the media. The Serbians are normal, modern, open minded people who live in EUROPE. THEY ARE EUROPEANS. Not some out-of space monsters. I have American friends who adore visiting Serbia, (Belgrade and Novi Sad both). I have never heard them complaining. Personally, I like Belgrade A LOT!!! except for the traffic jams and the crowded public transport:-)))Visit some forums and you will read hundreds of positive experiences from Americans in this country, which is sure sign that Serbians are good people, having in mind what the American and other politicians did to them.
Plus, Serbia is as safe as any other country. Keep your luggage and possessions when around bus and train stations. The same you should do in Budapest, Paris, Prague or Sofia.... And you can meet stupid and narrow-minded people who doesn't like foreigners everywhere, esp, nowadays. So, don't worry and visit a great place!
And something more - almost everyone (i mean the young people) in Belgrade speaks English, people are quite friendly, the downtown is full of nice places to go out, the night life is great and if you have a friend, surely you will have a good time and someone will help you and show you around.
Check this site for more info about Belgrade:

Depends what safety you are thinking of. There is a lot of crime everywhere in the World. But, Serbia is common country with very kind and educated people. Many people are mixing life and politics, but they are wrong. Serbia is just like many European countries, no better, nor worst. Someone should like it only by his/her own experience. I'm Macedonian, not Serbian, but I like it in different ways. Just go there, you'll like it. And, do not forget visiting Macedonia - it's another part of the pleasure. |
