türkiye is extremely cheap compared to Europe
türkiye is heaven for textile
clothes (both fake and real) are produced in high quality
in case of food; vegetables are cheaper in türkiye while meat is almost the same
restaurants are cheaper but Chinese restaurants are a lot expensive and you cannot find them everywhere ıunfortunately
cafes have similar prices, if you go to center, prices get higher
for renting, for me it is very very cheap especially when you look at the prices in Europe and America. but people have very low income, that's why it is hard for them to pay their rents |

my boyfriens mum lives in altinkum, and when she first moved there, everything was cheap. you can barter in shops as well as markets, but the last few years she has noticed the prices rising, as it is getting more commercialised. you can still find bargains tho, mainly on clothes, |

depends on where you are coming from, and what you are buying
1.3 New Turkish Lİra equals about 1 $
if you are buying something made locally its would be cheaper if you are buying foreign stuff (like electronics) it would be the same or even more expensive |

It is indeed, unless you go to those international brands sold at the new malls. Even then, you can find things that are cheaper than Europe.
As for food, there are some very expensive posh restaurants but 90% are unbelieably cheap. For example, I was on a tour of the Black Sea coast and we had rainbow trout for 3 US dollars.
In Istanbul (yesterday) I bought a pair of cotton trousers for 30 dollars, a very nice nylon windbreaker (very fashionable) for 13 dollars. And these were in a very expensive modern shopping mall in the city center (Cevahir shopping center).
At the end of May I was in Ankara. I bought two Lacoste type beautiful t shirts for 30 dollars total. A double sided rainproof short jacket for 50 dollars. Clothing is of high quality in Turkey and very well designed. |

I'd get in quick before they change the copyright laws under the european rules. Knockoffs are the norm and are about 1/3 of the price in the UK |

It depends on where you go. If You go to Nisantasi or Kanyon Alisveris Merkezi it is like in England,Paris,Italy...
If you go to a market place it is not expensive.
Turkey has a lot of choices for every budget but it is not a cheap country. |

You don't even have to buy fakes. There are lots of beautiful pashmina's and in Ankara there is a great outlet with some awesome prices on designer clothing. If you want to go to the grand bazzar and shop though don't expect any really good deals and you have to know how to barter. |

It depends. It's cheap to buy knock-off designer watches and sunglasses there. The bazaar is really cheap and you can find t-shirts, pants, shorts, dresses, shoes, bags, (the list goes on) for very cheap prices. A shirt there will cost about 2 millyon lira which is practically a dollar. Most of the restaurants there are also cheap too. A nice dinner at a restaurant for 3 people, for example, would cost only 30 millyon lira. To go to an average restaurant in america, 4 people have to pay 120 dollars! :-) Have a great trip now! |
