Turkey is not cheap but is definitely more safer, cleaner and better than Greece and English as well as other languages are spoken more widely in Turkey. Turkey is also a destination for young. Excellent food, excellent tourism infrastructure, excellent people, excellent weather, and all at reasonable prices.

yes it is said and known as you said. but of course it also depends on where you're going.

Turkey is both cheaper and more expensive than Greece.
i mean we don't use the currency euro so it's cheaper to live in Turkey.

On the other hand Turkey is a large country with lots of rich people too and there are hotels that costs 5000$ for a night in Turkey,if you can afford. i mean Turkey is suitable for any budgets!

Selena
Quality wise - definitely!

go to turkey. don't miss the last minute opportunities. you can save £££s. there is no just sun and sea. there is culture, freedom, friendly people as well

Qu'est ce que tu pense?
I read somewhere on the Yahoo homepage (about 2 weeks ago), that Istanbul was a better deal than Athens. Of course Athens is going to be an expensive city, but if you're considering other cities, then the prices are going to vary. One city in Greece may be cheaper than a city in Turkey.

It depends on where you go buddy. Turkey definitely is not a cheap country but you can find places according to your budget.
And for Aspettami: Both countries are very beautiful and unique.
To have a real idea about the world you should try to see everywhere. Are you not going to see Austria because you have just seen Germany?

I will give you some examples:

As Turkey is not an EU country it is cheaper than Greece.I live in Turkey and go to Greece on shopping trips as they have more western luxuries that Turkey doesn't have especially British foodstuffs. The two countries are physically similar being either side of the Aegean so the beach's and landscape are similar.Don't really know what you mean by freedom but no tourist have been arrested here for taking photos of aeroplanes as in Greece. The food is great and if you are on limited budget and stay away from tourist restaurants it is very cheap compared to UK.Turkey is a cheap country except in the busy tourist areas and unortunately I suspect thats where you will want to visit.

Most of the things I read here make absolutely no sense!

Yes. Greece is by far more expensive than Turkey. At least twice as much. The much higher income of Greeks (24.000 USD/per person/per year) than Turkey (9.000 USD/per person/per year) and consequently the higher standard of living as well as the euro (which is so much stronger than the dollar: 1 Euro = 1.4 US dollars)) undoubtedly contribute to that.

In the past, there have been several terrorist attacks in Turkish resorts depicting Turkey as a relatively risky touristic resort. Even so, it is much safer than other places. But definitely not safer than Greece or any other country in EU.

English, German and French are widely spoken in Greece.

Considering quality, it is rather more useful to check what a Turkish writer (Ali Birand) has lately written in Turkish daily news for Turkey as compared to Greece.

"I burn with envy each time I go to the Greek islands. After seeing there the profusion of colors and the charming buildings, each one more beautiful than the other, it makes me bitter to return to our coasts riddled with warped, ugly buildings and unfinished constructions that are neither houses nor blocks, all slumped together. I can't help but ask myself each time, “why have such bad taste?â€

Turkey is a third world country whereas Greece is an affluent county that is an E.U member: As such, the cost of living is much cheaper in Turkey. However, you get what you pay for: if you are looking for some sun and sand...go to Turkey...if you want to see some real culture and civilization you must go to HELLAS, HELLAS, HELLAS!!!!
