As Artemis said - it wasn't very popular a few years back but now - the florists /underwear/confectioners have all joined the 'Valentine's' mania.
I remember it being great fun at school in UK - well it was great if you were popular - not so great if you didn't get a card!
My husband who forgot the day stole flowers from our next door neighbour's rose bushes - I was horrified!!!! There was not much 'loving' in our house that day!
I've also heard him say to friends who ask him what we will do on Valentine's Day 'We celebrate our love everyday'.(he's really sarcastic) Puke inducing .. or what??? I think if you really plan a romantic evening - it's sure to go wrong! Live life day by day and have fun! |

We have to.
St.Valentine and St. Claus became the two biggest jokes of west Christianity and the Orthodox follow like sheeps. The modern " values" of those two saints have nothing to do with the true values of Christianity (which by the way, I don't follow, but I can see the irony in these kind of celebrations). |

It never used to be but in the last few years it seems to have taken off. It gets more flowers and presents sold that's why. I believe it's frowned on by the Orthodox Church though as St. Valentine was a Catholic. |
