I'm about 40% Polish from my dad's side, but he also is part Lithuanian. My mom is German, Irish, Welsh, Scottish and maybe French. Crazy, huh? In Polish, all I can so is count to ten, and say "dentistry" "twin" "caution" and "restaurant" but I got to visit when I was 19 and it was a blast! |

I was born in Bartoczyse, Poland of a Polish father (surname Bukowski, he's from Maniowy) and a Ukranian mother (maiden name Melescko, she's from Olstyn). My birth certificate says Maria Bukowska, but my mother Anglicized by first name...so I've been called Mary Bukowski since. Though I have Polish relatives that call me Marisha...I've never been called Maria. I was raised in America...Stamford, CT..but have lived all over the states...in AL, WA, ME, IL, NM...and am presently in Salt Lake City, Utah |
