The Greek part of the island is now part of the EU.

trinity till i die
yes cyprus is a member of the eu & entered the euro zone 1st jan 2008.

there are no greek /turkish parts of the island just free & occupied areas. the south is free whilst the northen areas are under illegal occupation by turkish troops following the mid 1970's invasion!

According to EU law, 97% of the island of Cyprus is a member state called the "Republic of Cyprus". This includes the north (in theory) although EU law is indefinitely suspended in the northern 1/3, pending reunification. In theory, Northern Cyprus is part of the EU, and the people there are EU citizens.

The remaining 3% belongs to Britain, and is considered British territory. This is also part of the EU, but only in some respects.

The southern part of the island - Greek Cyprus - is now a member of the EU.

Northern Cyprus (Turkish Cyprus) is not recognised by any other country other than Turkey which is why you can only fly to it via Turkey.

It is now possible to cross the border so you can fly, for example, to Larnaca and take a taxi to and from Northern Cyprus

The whole Cyprus is in Europe, since the whole island forms the Republic of Cyprus, and its the only internationally recognized state in Cyprus since the 60's
Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots are Europeans living in the RoC, but unfortunately Turkish Cypriots cannot "enjoy" the EU standards, and they feel isolated due to the Turkey's illegal invasion, occupation, partition, and ethnic cleansing , and the Turkish Cypriots are forced to stay in the north occupied part...

Recognized ? Cyprus, it's a full member of the EU.

In May 2004, Cyprus entered the European Union. In practice, the membership only applies to the southern part of the island which is in the control of the Republic of Cyprus.

The northern part is consider part of the Republic of Cyprus too but the European laws havent applied there yet because of the illegal Turkish occupation.

Cyprus is now part of the EU. However as you know only half of it was Greek the other is Turkish, so that part is not part of the EU.

Yes, we in Southern Cyprus actually joined the E.U. a couple of years ago, and our currency changed to the Euro on the 1st of january this year.

lion of judah
only turkey doesn't recognise cyprus

perhaps they've never been introduced
