inter-cultural relations (friendships and love affairs all alike) with the foreigners are WIDELY supported by the Turkish.
We love to see foreign people around .. it's a life-enriching experience. Go ahead and get yourself a Turkish girl-friend
be nice to her and she'll sure appreciate it |

At first, I faced some contempt from my ex-girlfriend's family, because they weren't sure about my being a serious and respectful man. When they knew me better, it become much more than acceptable for them ( her mother even used to call me "son" ). |

Yes, if the foreign guy has the looks of various Bonds and the character of the good son.
No, if the foreign guy has the looks of Danny de Vito and the character of Adolf Hitler. |

Well where I live in the UK there are a few Turkish women married to English men, so I would have to say yes to that:) |

be a man, treat her like she's the most valuable thing u ever get to have and respect her. u'll be fine. And a foreigner dating a Turkish girl interests me as much as a Chinese worker falling down from his bicycle while riding on his way to work. It's heeeeer business.
Edit: It has to be still frowned upon in Malatya and it's gonna stay that way in the next 50 years. It's Malatya after all |

Being in a 3rd country (neither in Greece nor inTurkey that is) had a relationship with a Turkish girl & everything was absolutlely fine (safe from the fact that she was more stubborn, headstrong, outspoken etc, even compared to our Greek girls - something I thought it was totally impossible :)
Having said that, If you travel to Turkey, I would advice you to be very careful (you do not want to meet a girl s father, mother, brother, cousins etc, do you?) |

Yes of course, I am English and I married my Turkish girlfriend, at first I was concerned how my wifes family would react to me as I am English but it was fine, everything is not as it is always painted of course I have seen some very strict families who would only want their girl to date a Turkish man but on the whole in Istanbul they are very acceptable to foreign men. I think this question can also be asked anywhere in the world where there are two different cultures. |

Is it acceptable? ....assuming that all Turkish girls are all locked away by their fathers wearing chastity belts or something.
There are strict families that protect who their daughters date all over the world. Maybe more in Turkey than Europe or the US, but the vast majority of the girls in Turkey, especially in the large cities like Istanbul, find it "acceptable" to date whoever they want.
But... some advice... if you ask the Turkish girl you want to date this question... she might not want to date you. ;-) |

Not when I was there in 1966. Very forbidden in the city of Malayta . Would guess it is still that way in most of the smaller towns and cities in Turkey. |
