Is it cheap to go away for a weekend to Amsterdam from the uk?

The flight is not much. Is accomodation and living costs quite cheap?

If you stay in a not too fancy hotel, it is not that expensive. Food and drink are cheaper than london, so it all depends on what you will do.

It is defenitely worth it! Enjoy!

GeorgieP
Yea, i went back in October, i picked the flights up for a £1 each and 83 euros for two night in a hotel, for two ppl, food and drink was around the same price as here i would say, but the sites were amazing, i went to Anne Franks house, Van Gough museum, all of that!
Deffinatly worth it!

yup, really cheap - easy jet do flights there, you can get them under £10 some time - check them out easyjet.co.uk (or.com) go there every year. Food and drink can be expensive - try the supermarkets ya can get cheap stuff. Rent is cheaper than in England if you look around and you can get a hostel for 16 Euros

look for a low-cost airline and your fare won't amount to much. re accommodation, you'll find a number of good budget accommodation. eg. ibis hotel has a good rate and it's very central... just by the train station but extremely well insulated so you won't hear train noises.

Where am I?
It all depends on what you want. There are hostels in Amsterdam, but some do have a curfew. To get a cheap hotel check the links below, I've booked trough them and they are good priced.

Since you are ok with the flight prices, I will only give you a rough Indication of the living expenses:

Hotel prices - You can get a decent place for something for as less as 40-50 Euros per person per night
Food - Again 40 Euros shud be good for a person per day , but that depends vastly with what kind of food you want (With McD , you can finish under a tenner)
Local Transport, Musuem Fees , etc - Provision for around 30-40 Euros per day

Hope this helps - Have a good trip

It is cheap to get there, cost me 55 pound return, but watch your spending because a lot of the shops are expensive.

Food and drink is about the same as the uk (maybe a tad cheaper). Just stay away from the main tourist areas and it will be cheaper
