Allan D is GAME OVER

Is it me or most of headscarved Turkish women that work in shops never reply when we say *Good Bye* to them?

Turkish friends, this is a very serious question.

Sometimes I buy kebabs in turkish restaurants, or some drinks or turkish delights in turkish grocery stores, in all the european cities that have turkish communities ( Belgium.Germany, France, Netherlands, they are everywhere, lol ).
And each time the cashier happens to be an headscarved woman, she NEVER say *Good Bye* (nor * Thank you*, * Have a nice day*, * Good evening*, etc...)
And in general non-headscarved women , and men of course, always reply, and they are even politely smiling.

So my question is .
WHY do these headscarved women dont reply to me when I say *Good Bye* ?
Is it just because they dont want to talk to men? So why do they have a shop then? Does Islam forbids women to talk to men?

Is it because of .
1) Religion ?
2) Lack of good manners?
3) Audition problems?
4) Or because I became so famous that they recognized the Allan of YA? lol

Can you explain?

@ blabla, no I dont criticize ALL Turkish women. I am talking about HEADSCARVED WOMEN...
They seem to be very rude...
Maybe I am mistaken, ok, but I just ask, I dont judge...
And yes, you are a woman, so you are certainly not considered the same as a man, for these very islamic women.
And yes, I am very polite, always, thats why I dont undertand people who dont even bother saying thanks/goodbye.

İ am not turkish but muslim wearing scarf and living in Turkey, i can say that most of women wearing scarf and working in a public places evoid to say thanks or bye or something like that because according to them is it not proper to talk to a men, and believe me it also happen with men, for instance when i get out of the bus i always say thank you to the chofer and they will never reply just because i am woman and it is not just for some turkish muslims but religious muslims in general: one day i was in London airport and while goin up to a electrical stairs a muslim men saw me and inmediatly turn his back towards me... İ do not blame İslam because believeme there is nothing in Quran on a hadiz that says you should be rude towards people in oposite Prophet Mohamed always said that a good muslim should be kind, but as usual people have made their oun conclusions throught the centuries and this conclusions became laws...İ totally understand your feelings because i am coming from Western society where telling Godmorning or thanks is very important, but i can asure that there are a lot of muslim woman and men that know the ettiquetes rules and they are kind..again in the case of this woman do not take it as they are rude or uneducate think that may be they have to be cautious about their behaivour because most of them are foreigners and afther september 11 muslims in europe and america have been considered bad people and a lot have been offended so the best way to keep their job and be in peace in that societies is to stay away of posible problems and be concentrated in their work.
Anyhow if you are being polite and show them respect that is the most important, do not care if they do not say hi or thanks to you, you keep doing remember that is better to give than to receive.

bla bla
So Turkish citizens are meant to explain the actions of all generations of Turks living everywhere in Europe - that's a bit of a big ask isn't it?

Personally I have never had the problem - but then maybe it is personal. If you give respect, a greeting and a smile, then generally you get it in return - headscarf or no headscarf, male or female.

This is my take, not sure if it make sense to others. I just think its cos they are shy as they dont really mix with especially foreign males as much as the more liberal ones.

I dont think they are being rude, I think its unconscious on their part. Of cos its not to generalise all.

Or maybe youve got such hypnotic eyes?

Edit: Arpsy, thats a lovely answer and how true...

Mr. Daaannyy!
In the small turkish shop, not long from where I live, works a head scarfed turkish women and a turkish men and they are the nicest shop owners I ever seen. Always replies when I say good bye!

So, you decide to judge all headscarved turkish women over THIS??

Ask yourself this question: does a "good bye" from a Turkish shop worker really make any difference to your life?

Very serious matter?? HA!

Grow up...

Edit:

I'm sorry if that offended you by any reason! I'm just saying that it's a pretty stupid reason to judge all lovely Turkish headscarved women! It's not very nice! :(

I'm not Turkish btw!!

Please stop the generalization.... I think they say that to show respect im guessing, because they are not allowed to speak to guys they don't know.

at first, why are you so aggressive? and second, that would never ever be a problem to me, it is not related with our religion, like there is not such a rule that women can't talk with men, shake hands or flirt with them. May be she was just busy or rude.

sesso
Its because they are ninjas. But on a serious note maybe they are just shy or maybe they don't want to waste their time with a non-muslim.

Why don't you ask them directly? Or are you just being presumptious?
I'd say slaying them on their back is rather indecent. How are we supposed to know why they don't greet you. Maybe you are too ugly could this be it?

Moonlight Turkish Muslim ☪
We don't say bye because we don't like gavurs. You stupid speak about headscarve women like we are bad people.

Rengim
Vibe and Sophia may be right (and Arpsy, that's really great what you wrote), they may be just shy around foreign men but this happens to me too and this is why I hate AKP and the turban (not the regular headscarf, the what's called abroad "Turkish style headscarf" the one created by AKP) regular headscarfed women are nice and warm, these turban wearing ahums are very very bad mannered people in my honest opinion. You know why? Cause I'm not a man, I'm not a foreigner, and I get the same treatment here, when I come in a store I don't get a hi, I don't get a thank you when I help them up. And walking on the street! ARGH, they bump into you and not say anything, I've had a few step on my foot and try to let it pass. Of course I didn't let it go and an almost cat fight ensued on the street, but I'm too civilized to use anything but my tongue to answer them while they seemed ready to get into it with bare fists (ironic ha?). If you know Turkey a little, you'd know there's a mini civil-war going on between these turban wearing types and us "seculars", honestly for me it's just more than political, I just can't stand their almighty attitudes. Let's not generalize though, this doesn't always happen, there are some pretty nice and sweet turbaned girls that seem welcoming, I had a couple of "friends" (acquaintances more like it) turbaned who were really bright and lovely people, but I'm sorry to say that generally I really have to agree, they are not that polite.

I'm ranting I'm sorry, but I'm right there with ya it's not just you Allan, I don't care if you're a troll or a moose this subject just gets me all heated up. I really don't like people that are not well-mannered.

UlaanBataaru
Cause they are conservative. And live in this barbaric society.
