You are allowed to wear just about anything you like in Turkey, especially in open-minded Istanbul.

However, you also have to be aware that Turkey is very traditional and outside Istanbul you may get some weird looks or even hostility if you're not dressed appropriately.

You also have to know that Turkish men like to stare at foreign women, and if you're wearing something sexy it will probably be getting annoying after a while.

And anyway, more than how you're dressed, it's your attitude that will matter.

of course!!! it's not illegal or sth! :) i can verify this by quoting from a friend of mine (from a conversation we had when i called her from my cell phone, she was just yelling sth at her mother) : "Moooom, do i have any skirts other than mini-skirts???" yeah she's %100 turkish.

but beware of gross turkish men (which we call as "kro") that may insult or disturb you. however don't be frightened, they would just insult you not rape or sth.

Of course...Istanbul doesn't have pervs lurking around the corners of buildings or anything!! :-)

No problem at all. We wear miniskirts and we don not have restrictions for tourists.

it is ok to wear a mini skirt in istanbul or in ankara,antalya,samsun,izmir everywhere in Turkey...This guestion shows that you have different ideas in your mind,but Turkey is like european countries,and Turkey has everything in it...A lot of different cultures...You can not find any other countries have everything like Turkey.

idk, it would probably be inappropriate most likely, depending where you are. people wont really say anything but they sure will look, especially if you go into the smaller cities.
