Maybe you should tell her that you would like to go with her. |

Of course ones wife should travel alone - who knows what exotic wonders she will return with (if she returns at all).
One must also realise today's 'wives' must be allowed more freedom within reason - allow her to travel alone but follow closely to ensure she comes to no harm on these delightful islands. One must take care of ones little woman.
I for one applaud Lavinia's decision to venture out into the world alone. |

Yes old chap that is perfectly fine and I'm sure the Lesbos photographs will make delightful viewing when she returns. Similarly I'm sure the old girl would welcome you having a trip of your own. Perhaps a wonderful strictly cultural excursion taking in the delights of Amsterdam, Hamburg and Bangkok. |

lmao..you may have meant this for a joke but...
On June 4th I will be making my 9th trip alone to Greece all the way from the southern USA..yes, all alone!
My husband would not go so I stopped asking. He doesn't want to fly that many hours, he likes to understand what he hears and he has trouble hearing, he doesn't like late nights, can not drink alcohol. etc etc etc....now who in their right mind would go to Greece with him miserable????
He has no problems with it..and I love my weeks there visiting my friends and family relatives.
This is the new world...wives can do things alone |

Yes it is part of the Greek Islands
You are a cunning linguist, Count Pont du Chardon, it's a shame to hear that your Lavinia is traveling without you. Perhaps you should be more "hands on" in your relationship.
Destroy the mini-jackrabbit. This would necessitate her bringing you along!
Bon voyage! |

just mention you would like to see saphos and lesbos ask her if she was hinting you go with her?
lesbos isnt all that its dead we stayed at the next town to lesbos called kathalos it only had 1 proper bar however you can get to falaraki and other places really easily by bus. |

Your presumption is correct so far as Lesvos is concerned.
Sappho was the legendary poetess from Lesvos.
Should your wife go alone? How long have you been married? How do YOU feel about it? What is your relationship like? What delights is she referring to?
Gastronomical, geographic, biological?
You answer those questions first and then some, dear Count.

Well, I would not like it if I were you... On the other hand, you are also by yourself for the timebeing.... Any suggestions? |

Yes, why not?
I went out to Cyprus for two months alone, beofre my husband could join me. I have to say, although it felt a little strange at first, i soon got used to sunbathing alone, and eventually, plucked up courage to eat out alone at night. I always chose mainly family-orientated restaurants etc, but i was soon amde to feel welcome and at ease. I was never pestered, just good-humoured chats with waiters etc, and alwasy felt safe when out and about, or driving alone! Tell her to go for it!! |

Let her go. I'll lend her my video camera! *drool/slobber* |

The only thing your wife was not referring to was the Greek islands.
The delights she is looking have everything to do with people of the same gender.
As long as you are prepared for that, why not? |

And I presume you are trying to crack a joke.
Only you can decide what you can judge right and wrong for Lavinia... after Lavinia herself, of course. |

Gee, thanks for the laugh! That's the best question I've seen for a while! |

Indeed my dear. Lavinia and I have done a bit of sight-seeing around the Greek Isles. She said something about you not quite knowing where the destination was? |

My dear Count; I believe the islands in question are notorious haunts of singletons on the lookout for love, or, failing that, extra-marital coital arrangements.
Suggest instead she holidays in Stavanger, Norway. |

It's OK.. |

Isn't that a bit from "Swinging" ?
Some people love those isles....others, not so much. |

yes, they are part of the Greek Islands, and, Yes, it is right for a woman to travel alone, even if she's married. You don't own her, you know. However, the question begs to answer whether you TRUST her? If you have some reason to doubt her fidelity, you might want to ask her why she wants to go alone? Or is she taking a girlfriend? If she`s taking a boyfriend, I'd definitely be worried. |

I think its fine as long as you are OK with it, and trust her. I always go and do things without my husband, because he does not like to get out and see new things and I do:) |

It is right for one's wife to holiday alone. If one doesn't approve of her proposition, one should try to stop her. I presume Grecian Isles can be dangerous for one's wife alone amidst all these Greeks:) |
