What are you talking about yes it is safe in Istanbul. I mean sure there are a lots of bad people in Istanbul like NYC. Nyc is a big city like istanbul. You know there are a lots of bad people in NYC . It is samething in Istanbul tehera are bad people and good people it is all about you. Just dont be curious to get something stolen. And then you are gonna be fine ;) Believe me Istanbul is the best place that you can visit ever. |

Well, some say it's safe whilst others say be careful about the men always trying to 'charm women' falsely! As tourists it does seem that your money will be sort after with such vigour you could hardly imagine. As long as yr willing to give over lots of money you'll be fine. So many love it! |

Well it is certainly safe, but it is very heavily populated so of course their are slight risks. For example, it is just as safe as New York, Chicago or L.A. I have been to Istanbul because my husband has a lot of family there and have stayed for months at a time. The public transportation system is a a cheap and convenient way to get from place to place. Buses go everywhere and it would be much safer form of travel throughout the city because the drivers in Istanbul are straight up CRAZY and dont follow the rules of the road at all. Also, be careful buying from the Grand Bazaar. They sold me designer perfume for 40 us dollars and it ended being a bottle of water or it was reallly watered down! Just be cautious as you would in any city. It will be a very worthwhile trip. The whole country is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!!! |

Yes it is safe just like anywhere else. LOL. But women should always be more alert, more cautious, and modest in both dress and behavior as men in Turkey are not afraid of harrasing females. |

don't lose your daughter, I use to live in Istanbul but suburbs. It's great! you'll see many other kids, families... It's not like it's some crazy town!Every city has it's flaws. This is for every place you go, not only turkey! watch your belongings and watch your kid...
