You gotta watch out for dodgy paella.

It's more or less the same as any other European country. Petty theft in tourist cities is rife, you have to watch out for pickpockets, but that's the case everywhere.

If you take care, you will be fine.

It depends where you go.
Many tourist areas are plagued by pickpockets and beggars. Robbery is very uncommon. Theft from apartments and holiday lets are common place. The hotels tend to be much safer. Certain resorts attract hoards of young folk (regretfully often British) where drunkenness and anti social behaviour are common place, assault and sexual assault are high in theseareas. Away from the tourist areas it tends to be much quieter and the crime levels are certainly no worse than any where else in the world.
Terrorism is minimal in the south, but it a problem with the Basque Separitists in the North East.

Depends what you mean,
I go twice a year to different parts of Spain, ive never seen or heard any trouble.
We've never heard of muggings or break -ins, or attacks, (but don't mean they don't happen)

But if you're talking of pavements, no, no, no, not safe.. Everywhere you go you see people with arms , legs in plaster of paris, because they have fallen on the pavements. There is no such thing as health and safety. So beware.

All countries have crime. Street crime, theft, robbery and terrorism are prevalent.
