Is it true that Bodrum is like a turkish version of Mykonos and Ibiza ?

I mean a place we can enjoy and have fun...Despite of being located in a muslim country ?

so you prefer the circumsized ones in your back huh?
cool choice for you
.. come to Bodrum and the gypsy friends of Zeki Muren would please you well

Ipek K
Oh, yeah ...

FYI, Turkish is a country with a majority of Muslims- not a Muslim but a secular country.

OK. enough political lesson, come here and party !! :)

hollicrombie
what's wrong with a muslim country. most muslim countries have palm trees and beaches too, especially india. well yeah im turkish and i've been to bodrum and that place is like PARADISE!!! most turkish people aren't religious anyway.

I can guarantee you'll have fun in Bodrum. You actually have make an effort NOT to have fun;p I'm really tired of explaining people this 'muslim country' thing, just go to Bodrum and see for yourself. Everyone gives the same reaction,

"It's way better than I expected"

of course you can party there like crazy
you will have so much fun
it doesn't matter if it is a muslim country or not

but you know what Mykonos and Ibiza are famous for, i suppose. maybe this is just not the same as bodrum :)

it is just show the difference in prices even if you are gay you can have a great time there.it is just the place of crazy junk tourists and millions of Russians and Germans visit our coasts every year.Mostly you will see them more than Türks.Nikos, your answer shows your quality i have no more words for you.

fusuncu
Bodrum is such a fascinating city that it has been named as St.Tropez of Turkey.

hanibal
I cant make a compartment between them . Coes I did not wisted Ibiza and Mykonos. But I can say Bodrum is wonderful
.
Only difference Muslims and Cristian's in Turkey is
We believe Jesus also but we don't believe he is son of god. Thats all.

Yes but in Turkey, u ll have fun in much more than bodrum. beaches and night clubs are better in Marmaris and Antalya .

DejaVu
Bodrum is better.....but I personally do not like tourists treating our places like Ibiza etc.yes you can enjoy and have fun, but they need to respect the countries customs that they are in...

also
our country has no official religion so that means Türkiye is not a Muslim country...

with respects, have a nice time over in Türkiye...

Never mind the religious bit, Bodrum is a fantastic place for a holiday. Much more class than Ibiza & Mykonos!

accented thoughts
yeah, it is kinda like that, all that partying and clubbing. and about bodrum being located in a "muslim" country (Turkey is actually a secular country with a predominant population of Muslims. being a Muslim or Islamic country means that the country is ruled by the islam law, which some call as the sheria if i am not mistaken, but we have our constitution fortunately [our first constitution was based on etiher swiss or swedish laws, cannot recall right now in 1920s or 1930s] ) , if you see a veiled woman there, take a photo of her, because that could be one of the legends you can pass onto other generations by showing it to your children :)
but still i would recommend that you should go to alaçatı, izmir. very classy and you can surf there.

nelaq
I've never been in Mykonos and Ibiza but I'm sure you can enjoy and have fun in Bodrum. Don't worry about religion, we are a secular country and everybody's free.

Bodrum is the choice of many celebrities: Prince Charles Tom Hanks, Phil Collins, Uma Thurman, Mick Jagger etc.

Here is an article of NY Times:

Well, if you are looking for Bodrum to have many gay places, you would be to disappointed! Better go to Mykonos or Ibiza! Other than that, yes, Bodrum has many bars and clubs and you can have a good time there! By the way, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco are also Muslim countries so are Malaysia and Indonesia (just to name a few) and millions of tourists visit every year and have fun!

istanbul bogazi
WE ARE NOT A MUSLIM COUNTRY! You people can not understand that and this makes me crazy. Turkey doesn't have an official religion. Bodrum is better than Ibiza but I have never been to Mykonos. In Bodrum you can find wonderful beaches,a great nite life, great places to visit.

stressed erica
i think u'd prefere marmaris

sultan.murat
no, better

Not really. Mykonos is also not similar with Ibiza as well. Mykonos is not a massive back packing tourism destination, it is very expensive (check the prices of hotels there!!!) and clubbing is world-wide famous but not massive.

Ibiza can be compared with Crete in terms of size and prices.

Bodrum is much cheaper destination than either Ibiza or Mykonos or any other place in Greece or Spain and is meant for the masses ...But still it is fun!

It all depends how much you ask in terms of quality and service.
