No not to the police. Yes you Do have To Pay, But You Have To Pay At Imigration, At The Airport, its Your Visa Fee. They Will Not Accept It In Lira!. You Have To Have It Changed up Into English Pounds. |

I remember paying something to get my Turkish entry visa at the airport last year. The £10 is the visa fee. You don't pay, you don't the visa and you don't get in. |

Yes each person entering Turkey from most countries including UK have to pay a fee of 10GBP to the government/police, it's part of the visa process.
It's fairly standard and civilised, but usually they accept nothing other than 10 pound notes per person or 15€ if you're from europe. xx |

Yes, you have to pay £10 at the airport for an entry visa into Turkey. It is not a bribe or anything else but everyone has to pay it - including children and I think infants. |

£10 is the cost of a tourist visa and can be paid at the airport of arrival. English notes are preferred and in good condition. |

Yes and no.
It depends which country you are coming from/passport you hold. If you hold a uk passport and are visiting Turkey as a Tourist, then yes, you do have to pay £10 at the airport!
Ive just come back from Turkey and had to pay. Dont forget Turkey introduced new laws regarding using your mobile phone over there also (becuase life wasnt complicated enough!)
Look at http://studentjetpacks.com/shop.asp?cat=3&offset=-1#turkish for info on sim cards in turkey.
Check out for more info on visas: http://www.studentjetpacks.com/goingabroad_visa_turkey.asp |

When arriving in Turkey, before passport control. At a desk you WILL be asked for £10 for enetering the country, this is a 3 month visa (90 days to be exact) You will be asked to pay this, and im afraid there is no way aroung it! They accept £10, but are not so keen on £20, but will give change. Basically Turkey have a very greedy government! |

you pay £10 for a visa when you enter Turkey. it is payable at the airport. do not give anyone else any money. the visa lasts for 3 months so you can leave and re-enter as many times as you like during that period. |

I don't think so.
an anecdote.
A police man wants to get bribe.
Police Asks the driver ; Do you have license, safety belt , everything. And the driver has no mistake and say here , here , It's also here.
Police understands that he cant get any money ! And say to driver .
Ok last question.
Do you have oriental music cassette in your car?
Driver : yes I have .
Police : Play it . And the police man begin to dans on the road.
(If you like someones belly dansing you must give (like paste) money him or her.)
At last police gets the money.
This can be in everywhere. Only music can be different. |

No, its in Balkans.
Transit drivers are paying €10(not £10) to Bulgarian and Romanian policemen "without any receipt" to pass through borders.
I dont know if its still avaliable after their EU membership.
Good luck... |
