Is it worth it to spen $2700 on a high-school trip (with friends) to London, Paris and Rome for 10 days?

Yes- my daughter just came back from a two week trip for $2500.00- best money I ever spent! She had a blast and learned quite a bit. All of her friends in foreign language did it and they all had a great time.

Absolutely. You can always make more money but you can never get the chance to tour these historic cities with high school friends. It will be something he/she will remember for a lifetime.

Travel is the best education.

That comes to about $900 per city which is what you'd probably spend taking separate trips. If that includes airfare, I say go for it and worry about paying it off later. Life is short, and you may regret not going. If you do decide to go, have a fantastic trip! :)

Guess you are the only one that can answer that. One of my children was escorted to Europe with 2 teachers and spouses and a group of 12 kids. The itinery was planned out and the kids had a ball. One teacher remained in Europe for a teaching position for the summer and the other adults escorted the kids home. These kids had already graduated from high school and it was an honor to be asked to join the trip.
How bad do you want to go? Is there side trips planned? Is there supervision? If you aren't going to learn and gain from it, it will most likely be a waste. If you are just going with a bunch of kids what can you learn from just"hanging out"?

Yes. While 10 days will not be enough to truely experience it, it will give a good taste. Also factor in other costs that might not be included: spending money, airfare, meals not included, etc. Travel is one of the best education experiences you can have. If you can "afford it", certainly take the trip! In high school, I could have gone to Paris on a French Class trip, but decided not too. Looking back, I wish I had!
