You know, for the time you use to post a question on Y!A and then wait to get replies, you could have looked it up in an atlas or even use google to find your answer in half the time.

Why are people so lazy?

Anyway - didn't you do any geography at school?

You must either be four years old or an american living in a place called "Blue Balls" PA or something like that.

Holland is officially the North Western provinces of what is now The Netherlands, but conventionally, people call all of The Netherlands "Holland" and the people "Hollanders" which in some areas would be considered politically incorrect. And yes, The Netherlands is in Europe.

trytostayanonimous
They refer to the same country.

The official name is Kingdom of the Netherlands, Holland is just two eastern provinces called North Holland and South Holland. However The Netherlands is also known as Holland.

It's definitely in Europe.

Cathy S
I believe Candace is asking if the Netherlands are called Holland by people in Europe.

Martin D
Holland is a part of the Netherlands. The Netherlands is part of Europe.

silv2078
There's this book...you do know what books are right??

well there's this book called and ATLAS

It's got all sorts of crazy pictures in it called MAPS

Maps are used to tell you where a country/state/city/street is.

Obviously you have yet to discover such a book. I suggest you do and englighten yourself before you go and sound like a complete fool again.

.brynbach
.You must have been very good in geography in school .

Holland is part of The Netherlands, which is in Europe.

Many people (in US) say Holland when they mean The Netherlands, but in fact Holland is two provinces at the west coast of The Netherlands.
