Jack (Catholicism is the truth)

Is the US or England a nicer place to live?

I'm American, but I want to move to Europe and I like the people in England, and especially like London. Whch country is nicer?

Yeah Europe is much better, London is a greatest place I've ever been, I love the West End of it

I don't live in either - I'm Australian - but if I had a choice I'd rather live in England, for one reason only - guns. I wouldn't feel safe in the US knowing that every Tom, Dick & Harriet was carrying one, and my family or myself could be shot at any time. Other than that I don't think there'd be much to choose between them.

Moving to the UK isn't like moving to another state, you need to get a work visa.

Live where you want. What do you care what others think.

If you are American and you want to live elsewhere, many people will help you move...

I dunno about England but I prefer living in Britain. Favourite countries are Wales, Scotland, and Cornwall.

America actually has a higher standard of living than England.

And England has one of the lowest standard of living (in the western world) especially for kids.

A lot of people who don't live here have this romanticised view of what England and the English are like, and a lot of people who live here have their heads stuck in the sand and refuse to admit that this country does actually have pretty major problems.

It's a hard place to live. For a lot of people.

Saying that - a lot of people will probably be ignorant and give me thumbs down so you probably will ignore this..

..so all i'm going to say is VISIT FIRST. And i don't just mean for a week. I mean for a good couple of months.

Personally - i'd stay where you are. I adore America. Would move there in a heartbeat.

But then the grass is always greener, right?

London is a fantastic city, but are you being realistic about the permits required to live there? Your passport will be stamped "work or recourse to public funds not permitted".
It's not as easy to go live in Europe and find a job as it is for people to come illegally to the USA. I guess you could go there as a tourist and let your time expire and get lost, work illegally (if someone will hire you), then if you're ever caught you won't be allowed to stay or return any time soon.
Now if you're independently wealthy and can prove you have funds to live on, things are easier. There are places in the US that don't feel like the US, New York City for example. It's such an international place you don't even feel like you're in the US. If you need to work to live, you might try there and visit Europe often.
Sorry if I've popped your balloon, but with the EU it's not as easy as it used to be to just disappear. Back in the 80's I went to Europe often and many times, they didn't even stamp my passport when I entered at the airport (Amsterdam) so there was no record of when I entered in my passport. Then you really could just disappear. I also went to Spain and found a job teaching English. They have tighter controls now.
