You're not looking at the right Russians. Many Russian women are very fashion concious, the ones I know are ALWAYS put together and could never be mistaken for anything other than high-maintenance girls.

If a woman doesn't have your dinner ready at 5:30, she's like a man?
If she doesn't always wear a skirt and heels, she's like a man?
If she doesn't need YOU, she's like a man?

Come on. It's stupid. None of these things makes a woman "like a man." A woman is a woman. Period. Doesn't matter if she's wearing pants and earning more money than you. Certainly, not doing what YOU want her to be doing doesn't make her "manly."

Are you saying that Russian women all have penises (or at least a Y chromosome)? That is the characteristic that would make them men. Maybe you realize the absurdity of this question when I put it in those absurd terms?

I don't really understand your question but the russian women I've known are very much into fashion,makeup and taking care of them self but have for the most part always been lovely to be around.Why you are asking if they are like men doesn't make sense to me?
As I said the russian women I've known are very much girly,dainty ladies.

Wow. There are many kind and beautiful women in Russia. I am not sure why you don't think so. I spend most of my time in Ukraine and I can tell you that Russian/Ukrainian girls are much more fashionable than American women. They are also very strong willed which is very difficult for some American men to handle.

I absolutely prefer Russian women over Americans.

Some of American men are afraid to be with a successful russian woman, because we are terribly strong, we know what we want and we are not fragile enough.
Maybe , for you , is better look in other directions.

I am a Russian woman married to an American guy. I think I am quite attractive, kind and honest and most Russian women I know are like that. A true Russian woman takes care of her appearance and at the same time of her family (cooking, cleaning etc.) For example, living in the USA I cook every day. My husband appreciates it as all American women he was dating didn't bother to do it. He has many friends also whose wives never cook. I would really want you to explain the question where you said that Russian women are like men (in character, appearance???). If it is about appearance - not true at all, if it is about character, it is not quite true either. Russian women need 100 of years to become as independent as American women. We just have different traditions and ways of upbringing children.
