Yes there is.
Almost too much really.
You could easily spend two weeks in Paris, seeing the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Champs Elysee, Eurodisney, Versailles, Place des Vosges, the list is endless.
You are then able to go to the different regions - north of Toulouse they have great wineries and near Cahors there are cave pictures that date back thousands of years. You can head down to Narbonne near Spain and have some fun there, Aix-en-Provence, Montpellier, Nice, Cannes for some Mediterranean fun.... Lyon... Grenoble and the area around Mont Blanc near the mountains and Switzerland, Alsace and Lorraine for the more german side of France - an interesting place due to the German occupation during the war...

That all depends on what you want to do, ages and interests of children etc. French campsites are the best in the world, and most have facilities that would keep the interest of many children. Paris has a whole range of things of interest, and if you really want to, Eurodisney and Parc Asterix offer the theme park type of activity. There are some fantastic beaches on pretty much all the coastal areas.

It depends on where you go in France. In most coastal places you can reach lovely beaches, nice walks and cycle rides. If you need funfairs etc then it is not the place for you.

ya, you could visit the eiffel tower, the arch of triumph, the louvre, the versailles castle, notre dame, and disneyland in paris. and then of course there are the beaches

The rivers north of Toulouse are all great. You can camp easily in spectacular countryside.

The Dordogne is used to dealing with Brit tourists and the whole area is littered with perfectly preserved medieval villages, amazing castles, caves, wineries etc. You can canoe and swim in the rivers and if you get thirsty for the beach you have the atlantic 2 hours drive. Bordeaux and Toulouse are both worth checking out.

Well, you're not going to be able to cover a lot of France in one or two weeks, so it depends where you choose to make your base.
Maybe somewhere within about an hour of Paris, then you could take the kids to Disneyland, and also see the sights like the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, etc.
Then you could be also about 1 and a half hours from the Normandy or Brittany coast and you could enjoy the beach and maybe some of the World War II history, if your children are old enough to appreciate that - there are all sorts of museums and monuments to commemorate the D-Day landings.

That's like asking is there much to do in Britain for a family holiday..! It really depends where you go..!
Euro Disney and Park Aterix spring to mind when thinking about Kids.. but there's also some lovely beaches..

Yes loads, the south of france is the best place for a sun, sea and lots to do holiday. There are plenty of campsites along the coast. You could get cheap flights to Nice with ryanair and then i would recommend hiring a car. For example when i went we were based in Antibes and then took day trips out to St Tropez, Cannes, Monte-Carlo etc. There is a sea-life centre, water park and a fair ground in Antibes, which is great for families. Plus the beaches etc.

it depends on your family, are they interested in museums and touristy things, and being treated very rudely by the french, or are they more active and like to hike, ski, bike, or are they kids who like to go to theme parks or watch t.v. all day, I personally would not recommend France,

If you have the money I recommend Norway, Denmark, or Sweden, i say if you have the money because it is quite expensive, and don't be fooled by the exchange rate (e.g. one american dollar gets you 5 norwegian krone's or you can get 6.5 swedish krona or 5 danish kronor) I would say Sweden is the cheapest of the three, but Norway has awesome things to do, but I am warning you, norway is $10 for a hotdog and $6 for cofee, $25 for a bad glass of wine,

another great place is the Bahamas, if you and your family like scuba diving or snorkeling or fishing, but don't go to Nassau, that is not a true bahamian experience, you need to go to one of the other islands like, eleuthra, san salvador, or rum cay.
