35 years old today...

When I was in university, I thought I would be a power woman, much like Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada. Then I found out that none of the power-woman specifications agree with me. I don't care much about earning a lot, I don't want to work 60 hour weeks, I don't like ordering people about, I can't work for something I don't really believe in.
Now I have a much more relaxed job, which I like doing and which doesn't require me to be mean to others, and the only ones I order about are my dogs, and they are not keen on obeying me, either. I am peaceful. I don't know why I dreamt otherwise. :) |

Sorry, when I look at the pay-check it's a nightmare. My dream job is being retired and doing whatever I want. |

Not even Close. I work as a lead cutter in a Lumbermill, and also as an assembler in an electronics company. Two full time jobs that are both not my dream job. I am trying to complete my education so that I can become a teacher. |

I'm in training for my dream job, to be buyer for our store. I am new so everyone tells me what to do. :) I just smile and do whatever is best, their idea or my idea. Once I start buying I'll be going to New York often and Europe once a year looking at beautiful things all the time.
Or store is a well known store and is the biggest in the south we sell a ridiculous amount of jewelry; I am lucky that this place is in my home town. I dress up for work and people tell me their romantic stories all day long. It is always about special days,
And the jewelers who make some of the stuff are so much fun!!!
Here are some of the designers:

I am an educator, I have been teaching for 31 years now. When I was young, my dream was to become a political leader/statesman. Unexpected conditions in my life led to this profession. I am happy with it. However, for the last 20 years or so I have been dreaming of owning and running a small classy bar/restaurant (under 30 not allowed in). The street I dreamed of opening it was almost dead then. Now it is full of cafés and restaurants and boutiques. Even my pension will not be enough to realize that dream now. Prices have skyrocketed. |

Its close to it. I am a freelance 3d Visualiser. I work for myself, when I am busy I get paid well when I am not I am free to do as I want. I can work anywhere as long as I have an Internet connection nearby I seem to work on average 2 -3 weeks a month so plenty of free time and very little stress.
Its not quite my dream job as I would prefer to be a Porn Star. being paid for getting laid must be high up on most men's dreams. |
