Isn't Belgium underrated as a country?

I went there a couple of months ago for a day trip and I think it is just truly beautiful. Mind you I didn't go to any cities just a couple of towns.

I was in Brussels and Bruges, both are beautiful and interesting places ,and the majority of Belgians seem to be tri lingual, fair play to them.

Also, they have the best beers and chocolates in the world. Great place, and long may it be underratedd, save it from the louts.

I live in Belgium and apart from the weather I think it's a nice country. I've lived here all my life and I do think it's underrated. We're only known because of our chocolate and beers, other than that people usually assume we're a crappy country because we're so small.

And besides, to the guy who said Belgium's full of prostitutes: you're being a judgemental idiot. No offence.

It's nice to see that some people still give us credit! (:

Yes, Belgium is underrated.
It has a very wide historical background and lots of lovely cities.
Like Bruges,Antwerp,Ghent,Brussels...
The chocolate and beer are great.
The people are well educated and polite.
It may be small. But big doesn't always mean good ^^
Except for the bad weather and immigrants its a lovely country.
I'm a Belgian and live in Belgium.

some state we have a lot of immigrants but that's not our fault.
It's the governments moral to give everyone a fair chance. Even immigrants that don't work and sit on their lazy butt all day long.
Still getting payed by the government for doing nothing (well they're asking for it)
We have this law : if you're unemployed you can get an unemployment's benefit from the government untill you find a job.

but leaving out the immigrants and bad weather , Belgium is a wonderfull country ^^

Belgium is a lovely country.
You should watch the movie " In Bruge " with Colin Farrell, it's very funny and it shows off the beautiful medieval city of Bruge.

Nah, it's overrated.
Nice for passing through, a backwater to live it.

Just think ... the seat of the EU and it own judicial system does not have the means to communicate digitally.

Scroll down this blog for more weird happenings in Belgium, it's Belgian newspaper articles that have been translated to English.

If you like good food & beers & museums visit.

If you don't like the illegals & crime better don't.
