A WARM COAT!
R.

If you mean that it will be winter in Russia than you want to buy WARM clothes lots of insulation. It can get to -37F in certain regions. Remember to protect your hands, feet, ears and nose from frostbite. I don't know if you own long underwear but they are your friend.

Keep warm and have fun.

It depends on where you're going, but you'll need a good jacket. Most of the country is as far north as Canada, but some areas in the South don't even get ANY snow in the winter.

Layers. Always wear layers. Start with a T-shirt or shirt, then a thin jumper, then something like a fleece, then a full-length coat with a hood. Proper winter boots are important with good grip and preferably real fur inside. A hat is most important and to be honest, if Russians see you wandering around without a hat, they are likely to come up and say something to you. You'll need gloves and a scarf. The best way to wear the scarf is to wind it round so it covers your nose and mouth and stops your nose freezing.

To be honest, this is what I wore in Siberia when it was -50. If you are in European Russia, you'll be surprised by how mild the weather is. Only around -10 or -15. Might sound bad but really isn't.

Have fun. Russia is amazing.

Russia greater country and a climate in many regions differs. For example, in St.-Petersburg now warmly enough and while there is no snow (6С), in other Russian city (in the center)-20С and a frost. Choose where you go and that you dress. I wish good impressions about our country.
