'Er indoors!!
The resort of Lassi in Kefalonia. We loved the sheer ease of this resort, as it's quiet, yet only a 5 minute drive, (or a 20 minute walk) from the capital (Argostoli) if you want more nightlife, and shopping.
Lassi is also only a 10 minute drive from the airport, so there's no hours of travelling, or hanging about at the airport for hours after your hotel boots you out at 10am. Just sit on the beach until half an hour before your flight leaves. Plus, the taxi fare to the airport, only 4 euro's, so no costly transfer fees.

I've visited many places, but Kefalonia did it for me. Absolutely beautiful, and easy travelling. Highly reccommended.

Kefalonia is such a beautiful island which i'm sure would fill your holiday needs-we return again again

If you still want some tourist islands, but with quiet areas, look at Thassos, Samos, Kefalonia, Skiathos. If you are happy with smaller, less touristy islands the list is endless!
Time of year is important, the above list will be miuch quieter early & late season, but I would say avoid July/August, so late sept is a good choice.
Once you have looked at options (flights, ferries etc from your area) ask another more detailed question after that to finalise your choice!
Don't forget to consider the mainland, particularly the Peloponnese, it's got everything, history, beaches, traditional towns & villages (which are usually cheaper)
Have a great holiday!

Well if you want something quite and to relax with your girlfriend you can go to Siros or Santorini (but is a bit expenisve) . They are both nice islands and in the end of Sept I think they wouldn't be so crowded! Kefalonia is also very nice and you can find anything. If you don't matter to be in an island and you just want to relax you could find many places to stay in Peloponnese, quite villages next to seaside, like Kiparissia, Hrani, Methoni, Pylos etc. You can also consider Crete island, that is big and you can visit many traditional cities.

Try Ios in the southern Cyclades. You will have to take a ferry as there is no airport, but the island is just beautiful with no rowdy folk and there are plenty of lovely beaches and eating places (and cake shops for the Greek pastries!)

KEFALONIA is beautiful for what you have in mind, and so is Skiathos.

Come to Cyprus!!! Its still very hot here, with temperatures around 33-35C in the daytime, dropping to around 25-28C at night. Try Protaras.....there are loads of little secluded coves to sample along this part of the coast, right from Kapparis ( close to the buffer zone), along passing Pernera, Protaras, Konnos Bay, Cavo Greko, and on to Agia Napa, where there are some great beaches ( all getting a little quieter at this time of year!) And don't be put off....Napa isn't all booze cruises and lager louts....there are some really good bars and restaurants. You would have a great holiday here!
