Ladies: Do Russian men treat you differently than others?

Obviously, the answers to this are going to be generalisations. I lived in Russia and had a couple of relationships with Russian men and the main difference I noticed was that Russian men are painfully honest. Too honest really. In my experience, the majority of Russian men are lovely but then I think the majority of Englishmen are too.

I agree with Katya but I will say that the desperate saddos who go on the internet looking for a Russian woman aren't representative of Western men in general and also that the vast majority of Russian women aren't manipulative or want to leave Russia.

It just depends on how the guy is raised and how he will end up treating a woman.

Well, I'm Western and lived in Ukraine, so I don't know if that counts, but I honestly can't believe the ill treatment I put up with from Western men before I met my Eastern husband. They are really night and day.

From my own experience and from seeing our friends, most men there treat women like gold. For example, they would never dream of having a woman carry anything, not even one bag. They will never let a woman put on or take off a coat without holding it for her. Of course there are always the coarse exceptions but generally speaking, most are incredible gentlemen in a way you very rarely see anymore in the West.

Well I'm Russian ,so I can tell you that Western men are more easy to manipulate. I have heard so many tales of Russian girls "using" Western men to get what they want. But life was hard in the former Soviet times, so people are culturally hard in Russia now and are not as soft as in the West. Russian ladies look for Western men for many reasons, for a way out of Russia, for money, or because they think there are not any worthwhile unattached men in Russia!. Alcholism is a problem along with unemployment, especially amongst Russian men. So yes, a Western man treats you differently and is kinder!

Russian and Ukrainian men are very handsome. They are very nice and good gentlemen, unlike many Western men. Many Western men are stupid and gullible and thus very easily manipulated by Russian women. Russian women only use Western (specifically American men) for money and citizenship because they know that these men are too stupid to realize they're being conned.

Russian and Ukrainian men are very smart, sweet, good-looking, charming, and know how to treat a woman. I LOVE Russian and Ukrainian men.

I would summarize Russian men as being overall simpler-minded than Western men. This has it's good side and bad side: the good thing is they are more straightforward and less calculating; the bad thing is, in relation to women, they are less considerate and less understanding about what women need from love relationships. They are more like big children.

I used to have a Russian fiancÃ© and i was led to believe that Russian men are harder to women, stupid and drink. Which tended to make me look like a soft easy British gentleman - Which is funny because that view hasn't been shared by the majority of my girlfriends.

I have never manipulated anybody and I don't let anybody manipulate me.

I wanted to find my soulmate and long life partner who will love me just because who I am and will treat me as an equal partner. So, my husband and I met, thanks to God :-) and now we are happy family that is based on mutual love, respect and understanding.

There is a famous saying among Russian men: A hen is not a bird, nor a woman a human being.

Of course they are joking, but there is a hint of truth behind every joke.
