Yes i dyed my hair twice when i was in collage. I have dark brown hair and i dyed them black. Really black.

Oh and one time red.(It was really funny,oh man my young days)

10 years ago, in my 20-25 years old, I used to be too narcissic, and I was too proud of my beauty...I used to like myself too much, and I was almost obsessed about my appareance...
I colored my hair to cherry-black, purple-black,platinum,blonde high-lights... I was a kind of "metrosexual", at this time( but that doesn't help me from hating the vanitious Beckham).
In fact, I was completely victim of my vanity, trying always to look like the most handsome...
I even began to add some mascara and all kind of make-up on my face, and then people used to think I was gay...

Then I calmed down, and now I am just trying to look cute despite of my baldness :((

What I think : physical apparaeance is of course super important, but we shouldn't be obsessed about that...
Trusting someone because he's handsome ( or she's pretty ) is a fatal mistake, because even the Devil may be beautiful ...

What's wrong with men coloring their hair? Look at nature. Look at the animals. It's always the male that has more hair, more color (lions, chickens, turkeys etc etc.)
Ottoman sultans had pearl and diamond earrings and some light make-up. In the 17th-18th centuries men had long hair or wigs in European countries.
Do you prefer men whose hands are rough, with ugly and dirty looking fingers and fingernails or the ones who look after themselves?
I used to color my hair dark until a couple of years ago. The main reason why I stopped coloring is, people did not believe my age. They all said I was 40ish (I am 57 now). They always said "you are young, you can stand up."
Now my hair is dark grey. My wife (and some friends) are suggesting that I should do some dark highlights so it will look mostly dark with some grey in between. I haven't decided yet.
I use Nivea for Men skin care and eye cream. I use hand lotion, especially in winter. I always shave and use a good quality perfume. Even in summer when we all wear shorts here in Cyprus, my t-shirt, shoes and socks should match my shorts in color and tone. I have more than 40 ties in my wardrobe and lots of shirts. I like to look good. It's self-respect and respect for others. I have no right to appear 'horrible' in public.
Does that make me a metrosexual or whatever they call it? I don't care. I am just a normal guy who likes to take care of himself and look clean and nice.

p.s. I am trying to grow my hair long. I want to have a short pony tail before I retire :)

edit: not just Gul, but many Turkish politicians color their hair. As long as it looks good on them, why not.

ehm ehm.... well my boyfriend does :)) but it really fits to him, actually it's not really coloring just like highlighting (is this worse? :))) ) but i don't think he weekly manicures

in general being metro sexual or caring for himself doesn't matter for me. actually this is really cool that they do it unless they look....strange :P

I agree with highlights and some light colouring as long as the colour is flattering to the face. Much depends on the age of the guy, its profession, his social environment. There are some professions, like in show business, that hair colouring is a must. As for manicure, it is nice for a guy to have nice hands, well trimmed nails.. I do not agree to extremities, but this is the same for women too.

A person taking care of his appearance, minding to look decent and well groomed, is almost cultural.

I never did that, nor am I planning to do it in the foreseeable future, however I admire the individualistic spirit that leads people to do that. I does not look cool but it looks I think but it sure looks somewhat different and as turks I think we need to show more respect if people want to express themself in different visual ways. I would never label someone as gay or disgusting for that and I think it is wrong to do so.

First off, having presentable hands is nothing to be ashamed of.

Secondly, I think the idea of *anyone* dying their hair is a bit preposterous. People generally look best with their natural color. This being said, unless it's done properly, hair dye on gray or white hair often looks terrible--esp. blonde or red--it just looks yellow or like a clown wig, respectively.

Has anyone else noticed that Abdullah Gul's hair has looked a little less gray recently? Has he been going to the kuafor a little more? If so, I hope his waxer gets a good tip...

There's an old guy where I work. I always see him at lunch. His hair color is the ugliest I've ever seen. I can't help gigling whenever I see him. His hair is all white and he dyes it to red but it doesn't even look red since his hair is too white. Very ugly, yuck!

However, highlights do look good on some men ;) (especially on young men and men who know what looks good on them)

i think its ok, like some highlights here and there. and guys that get manicures or pedicures every once in awhile is fine too cuz i know some guys that definietely need one!!!

Guys deserve to look nice and slick, as long as they are not trying too hard!

lol my cousin dies his hair to black, but he looks really handsome like that! He is certainly not feminine or something. I agree with Eylul unless they don't look strange it's fine with me. I mean I know some Asians guys dye their hair blond or red and it looks so awkward! According to my friend, that is regarded as a 'cool' thing among teenagers in Japan. In Hollywood movies the bad Asian guy always have blond hair =p

But I don't like men having weekly manicures or having their chest waxed. Oh and especially the ones who pick their eyebrows. It looks so funny. Twiggy eyebrows on the face of a 1.90m man lol. Eww these things are just so feminine. I don't like it at all.

Why not? I do NOT like prissy men but there's nothing wrong with covering a little gray or changing the color some.

I know of a couple men who put some color in their hair and you would never know. They just want to slow down the gray.

If the guy looks good with that hair color, fine by me. Manicures/pedicures are weird unless he has the nails of a 100 yr old man. I always say that natural is better, but it really all depends on what looks better.
I do know guys who dye their hair, but in my opinion it doesn't look good. But, I have seen some guys who have dyed their hair (in the media) and some of them actually look good.

İf you beleive that man and woman are equel than why ıs ıt a problem for a man to dye hıs hair. Me personally would not do ıt and defınetly not a manicures.
If a man apart from dying his hair goes to manıcure than may be hıs femınen sıde ıs taken over. ( you know a bit of nonos- fatih Ürek clan.)

I have no objection to anyone doing anything to his/her body. But if you ask MY preference, I like natural hair color and a very, very short cut. You see, it's all about preferences. And if I say anything negative about any preference, that person will have a say about my preferences.

It doesnt bother me if guys dye their hair just to hide the gray parts,but other than that no i dont like guys to colour their hair for no reason!

About manicure LOOOL no i dont support it,Guys dont worry ur nails look fine without a manicure!

And guys who dye their hair more often and manicure weekly are not so called REAL MEN!

I think it's ok, it's their choice and how they feel about themselves. But personally, for men whom I have a relationship with, I wouldn't think I'd go for it (Thank God, they aren't like that ^_^). I don't like a man who spends more time in the salon than me. I don't want it to come to a point when soon, it'll evolve into him telling me I have to get some color in my hair because it looks"blah" or telling me my nails need to be done.

Nothing wrong with it if it makes them look better afterwards!
Many men start having grey hair in their 30's which is way too early...they should definitely dye their hair! I really like it when men have a nice manicure and take care of their body!

Not such a big deal, as I've gotten older I realize that there are men much older than myself whose hair color seems to remain the same. As far as coloring hair, its not such a big deal, I guess its more common than I had realized previously. Most men I see with hair color seem to try to match their original shade, but when their original shade is near black and now they try to dye their hair some strange shade such as blond or bright red just looks ridiculous. As far as weekly manicures, that is just a waste of time and money, just plain silly. But some guys I guess have too much money and don't know what to do with it all.
