this is like asking what is the official language of France, of Great Britain......
Our official language is GREEK, of course!
A language that derives directly from ancient greek.

There is no Greece or Greek ... The official country's name is Hellas, and the official Hellenic language is Hellenic (Ellinika) or Greek to you - http://www.vlamis.gr

Pilots never fear!
There are two versions...There is ancient Greek and New Greek which all people in Greece now talk.
Ancient Greek are difficult but every Greek should learn.
That's why we have them in school for kid in 7th grade to learn and they will still learn until they finish school.

So I guess the answer to your question will be
New Greek.

Greek. But you know they were a lot of ages fighting between supporters of the two Greek languages-Katarevus/pure greek/ and Dimotiki/language of the ordinary people/ which ended in 1976.In this year the greek goverment ordered the creation of a mix between Katarevus and Dimotiki called New Greek language.

More than likely it would be Greek.....but many Greeks speak three and sometimes four eg English, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian.
