MYKONOS or SANTORINI. Travelling Oct 5-13, 2006. Which one to pick.?

Dear friend,
Myconos is the absolute party place. It has many beaches to go, many clubs and bars (even in beaches) and all the people dance all day and night long. It's a beautiful place and you find there all imagine about parties, girls, drinking and food but I don't think you will relax.
Near, is Delos if you want to see a real historical place.

Santorini is my favorite. It's amazing place! Picturesque villages, many historical places, many bars, clubs, restaurants... and a volcano!
You can find beautiful beaches (with white, red or black sand!!!)
I think is the hottest vacation spot in Aegean Sea (believe me I know Aegean Sea's islands very well).
But there aren't so much parties as in Myconos, not so much fun, not so much "madness"

I've been to both and liked them both, but I prefer Mykonos to be honest.
Santorini is more romantic, so if you're traveling with your partner it could be a good choice.
If you finally go to Mykonos, try Sol Y Mar. Amazing restaurant...

Ok, Mykonos is known for the party life and nice sandy beaches. That's about it.
Santorini has black beaches but not sand. The most breathtaking views of the volcano and caldera. It is an island unlike the rest of the greek islands. Thing is that at that time of year both islands are almost at the end of the season. I would definately do Santorini but if you could fit in both go ahead. Have fun.

Been to Mykonos last year May 2005 for a week; liked it a lot.. Santorini looks as white as Mykonos it seems..

Hello Friend,

While Mykonos majorly provides you with hot adrenline strokes, its quiet suitable for singles, couples(young) having party attitudes.

Santorini has more to offer as far as the cultural and historical beauty is concerend. So infact it depends on you what u wanna see in ur holiday. I have been to both the places and find them poles apart as per the tastes.

There aren`t any beautiful beaches on Mykonos, but it is a party-paradise!!!

Santorini is a 2 days visiting destination... it's great if you have a boat to explore by sea all the spots and to do some scuba, but if you're looking for exotic, relaxing sandy beaches, this is definitely not the best choice... I'd recommend Zakynthos, but in fact it's your call... anyway, bon voyage wherever you go!

Santorini by far!!!!believe me i have been in both islands

i dont want to let you down but neither of them is good
in october greek islands are pretty deserted:no fun,cold weather,winds,nothing seems like in summer
maybe at that time of the year you should visit nafplio(a city next to athens with a beautiful port,lots of fun opportunities,nice tavernas ,romantic seneries)
or visit pilio in magnisia(combines great beaches with mountain sceneries and has a certain life)
hydra , a small island next to athens would be a wonderful destination ,too.usually a lot of people gather there
have a nice time when you come here
don't forgett enjoy pita,souvlaki,feta,mousaka and other greek specialties
and stay away of the taxis
