Alexander was Macedonian aka Greek.
As Leonidas was Spartan aka Greek as well.

Ancient Macedonia was a part of Greek nation.
They were speaking Greek, all the ancient artifacts were in Greek language, they worshiped Greek the 12theism, they did participated in Olympic Games,Alexander spread Hellenic culture, and all the cities found by Alexander have artifacts with Greek language and very intense the Greek element/architecture.
Apart from this there are so many ancient texts,who proves the Greekness of Ancient Macedonians.

So don't confuse the Macedonians with the self-called as Macedonians , north neighbors -from Fyrom

In Macedonia they speak Greek,since the only Macedonia is a region in Greece.

In Fyrom ( the self-called as Macedonians) they speak a dialect of Bulgarian.
If you have a Bulgarian dictionary, it will be easy to understand a text of their language

So Macedonia Vs Greece cannot happen.
A part of Greece cannot fight with Greece!

I can't tell if your question is really about football or about politics, so I'll give my $.02 on what I think you're asking.

Personally, I agree with the Greeks on the naming of Macedonia issue. It has been shown in the past that naming your country (A) after a territory of a nearby country (B) can later be used as "proof" that B "really" belongs to A. Moreover, there are certain articles in the country Macedonia's constitution that possibly lay the groundwork for this in the future. So I can understand why the Greeks are so insistent that the country to the north be named differently. As for the (probably) Greek troll masquerading as "Friendly and Funny Fyromian" or whatever, I think he's shooting himself in the foot. Even though as I've said, I agree with the Greeks on this one, I almost want to write their embassy a letter begging them to just DROP the issue, so that maybe he'll stop.

I guess you have a great lack of education since you don't understand basic things.
1) Alexander the Great was a MAKEDONIAN and therefore a GREEK since all MAKEDONIANS were a GREEK TRIBE.
2) Ancient Greek tribes have created collonies across the Mediterranean sea and the across Europe through the river Dounavis. So, if you are trying to find which were the "parts" that constituted Ancient Greece then you need a good map.
3) And "YES" MAKEDONIA WAS AND IS A PART OF GREECE.

Now, to your hypothetical question which is in the wrong category and I have reported you for that:
There is no doubt that FYROM has NO LUCK.

Dear friend, is understandable to be confused and frustrated with all the rumors you read in here.
Yes, there is an annoying troll in here(maybe more than one, maybe many many more),yes Alexander the Great was called Macedonian and sometimes Greek. And yes, we have many enemies who will jump to the opportunity to steal the name from Greeks. But regardless all these issues we have to set the record straight.
Keep in mind Macedonia is located in Greece, is the northernmost part of Greece and was there since the beginning of civilization. The small country next to us,an ex-Yugoslavian region, had named itself the same while under communism. Nobody in the western civilized countries knew about this. Remember, this was under Tito, so no communications with the outside world.
When Tito fell and the borders opened in the '80s we found out about this little country that tried to steal our name. Of course we objected to it. Temporarily they agreed to name it FYROM( Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia). They denied any connection with Alexander the Great and the Greek history....initially.
Now, frustrated with the turn of events and the Greek embargo and only a handful of countries recognizing them (USA among them,for their own benefit in the area), so frustrated and helpless they sneak in here trying to confuse the public and spread lies.
As for their language, there is more Bulgarian in it than anything else. Bulgarians have no trouble understanding them
We Greeks, just state the facts,but don't take my word for it, just Google some key words and find out more.
I wish some hot blooded Greeks would take it easy and refrain from reporting questions like yours.
After all how we can let the truth out if we report legit questions? (And if it's not legit, so what, our point needs to be heard)

if you mean skopistan vs greece:
greece will win because those people are loosers.
1. they have fake history and nationality and every time they face real history they are in a personality shock.
2. they betrayed to their slavic brothers and especially the bulgarians.
3. they have albanians in their country who will back stab them (albanian hobby), greece has albanians too but they don't take part in the goverment.
4. they have the americans to support them and this is against them (the americans tend to betray their allies plus even the left in greece hate them for that).
5. as a society, they have a tendency to prostitution.
