Me and my friend are 16, we want to go to amsterdam. Is there any hotels you would recommend?

Preferably near some good 'coffee shops' and within walking distance of the Red Light District.

i assume you're looking for a contact high because you aren't old enough to buy but try dam square

U_S_S_Enterprise
Why would you want to be near to a coffeeshop?

It is well known that 18 is the age limit.
Since they increased checks on operation of the coffeeshops, age verification is mandatory. In other words, for you it is look, but don`t touch.

Orla C
By all means go, and enjoy the culture and history, but don't expect to be able to buy any dope in the coffeeshops.

The Rho Hotel is great, it is just off Dam Square so very central, just a few minutes walk to the red light district and coffee shops. The hotel is great, not too expensive and handy for pretty well anything in town

I would look on Tripadvisor.com to get more information. We stayed in a hotel called the Ibis and it was right outside the Centraal train station. The red light district is walking distance from there - about 5 minutes. Amsterdam is super walkable and you can get anywhere is about 10 / 15 minutes from all the major sights.

The Doria hotel is basic but secure and right near the red light area and the Greenhouse coffee shop. Twin rooms are about 70e per night. Located just off Dam square, don´t need a card to hold your room either.

How about the ones with the big windows that you stand in !!!!

buy a fake Id of the internet if you plan on getting in to any of the coffeeshops. they are sold on many websites (just google it) and are usually called "novelty ID's" (for legal reasons). Anyways they are basically real IDs and they usually go for about 100 dollars US. Good Luck!
