Most beautiful places to visit in Europe?

I'm looking at traveling to Europe for a couple of weeks sometime in the spring. I've never been there. I don't just want to do the touristy things that I hear about from everyone. I'm looking more quite, amazingly beautiful places that most people don't go to. Where do you suggest? Tuscany? Ireland? Have you been to the Aran Islands? I really have no clue so any advice will be greatly appreciated! :)

Cappadocia in Turkey. It is more of a backpacker's place, very few package tourists from Europe there. If you ever wanted to ride in an hot air balloon do it there - the landscape is amazing.

I would not go to Ireland in spring - Ireland is cool and wet even in the height of summer. In spring the weather will just be wetter and colder. Good places to visit in spring are the southern European countries, especially the ones that get uncomfortably hot and packed in summer. Tuscany is great in spring.

If you are into nature, check out the national parks. There are quite a number of them and many get mainly visited by locals. Saxon Switzerland, the Harz mountains or Ruegen island in Germany would be examples of this.

The Nightlife Of Dublin is magnificent, pubs, lights, shops are the things that are the Beauty Of Ireland. In Ireland go to the countryside with two chairs and a bottle of red wine. And Sit back and relax.

Greece is the most beautiful of all European countries. People are friendly. Beaches are lovely. The Resturants and cafes are lovely.

France go to Paris or soak up at one the famous French beaches.

The Last is Aran Islands. Well It's not sun and sand but the hsitory is all around you. Stand at one of the cliffs and watch the waves go by. It is lovely.

I really enjoyed the French countryside. My favorite was Giverny, which actually is not far from Paris. Monet's gardens are there and you can walk through them. It is an amazing experience but something very different than other touristy things. Tuscany is also beautiful. If you are in Tuscany you should visit Florence. It is the most beuatiful city in Italy.

Plus, Scotland and Ireland are really good...

The Aran Isles are a great choice - leave from Doolin and hear some great Irish music. If you are going to Scotland, you can't beat the Isle of Skye - scenery you could almost eat.

This past summer I went to Greece and it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Going in the spring would be nice because in the summer it was over 100 degrees every day. If you go, be sure to spend some time on the islands, though, (Spetses, Mykonos, Santorini, ect) because they are jaw-droppingly beautiful. You can also get around with english. France is always nice, especially in the spring. If I were you I'd go to southern europe near the seas.

Get the Inter Rail Global Pass and by all means begin in Ireland, and then see England, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland (Alps), Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and finally Greece. You may never make it to all the hot spots but you can hit most of them.
