Lol I do the same thing!
Well I'm guessing you like history so how about the caucus and Armenia, I really don't know much about that area. that's why I'm recommending it. I usually read all I can about a country then I pick off other peoples knowledge at dinner.
another option is Anatolia or modern Turkey and research all the ethnic groups that have gone in and out of that area and the different civilisations... that's kinda what I am doing now.
