My passport expired what do i do? |
i just posed this question up but i wasn't too specific. i have a polish passport and i am a citizen of poland but i am a resident in america with a green card. my polish passport will expire soon and i want to go to poland for vacation this summer. is there such a thing as a temporary passport i can apply for so that i dont have to wait for about three months to get a renewed polish passport? i just really want to go on this trip and i want to get some kind of passport as soon as possible |

First of all the person who said if yoiur a resident of the US just get an American passport, wrong, im a resident but i am mexican and have a mexican passport, go to the Polish Embassy, and file for a new passport, you still have some time cause you indicated you wanted to go in the summer which is not quite here yet, it should take about 2-1 weeks for a passport to be issued, and it cost about $36.00 for a new one. Come back to Poland its nice right now!!!!!! |

If you are a resident in america then you can just get an american passport. They still let you into Polska with anytype of passport.. Hope this helps. If you have anyother questions feel free to contact me.. (pick for best anwser plz)=] |

I think not, you have to apply for a new passport at a Polish consulate.
There used to be a thing called a "reentry permit" issued to legal U.S. residents like yourself, that looked more or less like a passport but was not (I think it was white), you could use it for travelling around and stuff, I wonder if it still exists. Ask at you nearest Imm&Nat office. |
