Need help going to Europe!!!? |
I was wondering... how do i convince the parents of a 15 year old to let there son go to Europe with his school? I really want to go, but i don't want to ask them before I have a good, solid plan. any suggestions?

Details would probibly be important, opps. haha uhh, its a trip that will be all summer break long, its going to cost around $3000, which I can pay myself, and its going to be with the Latin Teachers, who my mother sells Avon to one of them I think. Yes, i am the person trying to go. I want to go for several of the reasons that the kind people who have answered so qiuckly have said: to learn of new cultures, for the once in a lifetime experience, for the grand experience of travel, for the independence, I'm trying to learn how to cook and maybe being introduced to all of these different foods will help me on the way. Mainly, i want to go to learn, and it is supposted to be beautiful. We would be visiting major cities like Italy, Greece, Rome...

I am 16 and I went to Europe this summer through the People to People student ambassador program. First, you need to concider some factors. How much is it going to cost? How many days? Is the price worth the ammount of days spent? What are you going to do once your there? What security measures are going to be met?

Get as many details about the trip together and present them to your parents. Make sure you can tell them which teachers or other adults will attend and how to contact the teacher(s) who are sponsoring the trip. |

ok so you want to go to europe ( country? ) with your school. tell your parents its a great opportunity for you. maybe the cost is defrayed as its a school trip? you can learn about new cultures, become more independent. get some linguistic exposure most likely. its somethign if you didnt do, you might regret, tell them. |

Assuming that this is for you and that you are a good kid, a trip to europe is a very educating experience that can be invaluable to shaping your future with a taste of different culture, food and lifestyle. I would point this out to your parents. |

Get one or more of the teachers / chaperones going on the trip to be with you when you speak to your parents. Stress the learning aspect of the trip. Make sure that you act very responsibly before, during, and after the trip. Enjoy -- I wish that I had been able to do the same kind of trip when I was younger!!!!!! |

Focus on all the good experiences you will get. Are you going with a club? Language? Music? Focus on that. It will help if you can show them an itinerary the group has. |
