some turk divisions was fight for hitler during WWII. SS collect them with huge propaganda and they fight with russians under SS uniform. ( If I remember right .. 3 x Kampfgruppe sized ~ 30k .. and Nazi's use them against russians, only russians )

i actually asked this ages ago,and it ended up getting deleted.

from what i read turkey was neutral in ww2 and was building a new republic,they had no interest in warfare at that time,they were just wary of the russians.germany was an old ally of turkey in ww1,so there was already good realtions between the 2.hitler also held a reception for the turkish commanders in berlin and a non-agression pact was signed between them.

the nazis did indeed have a plan for the turkic people in russia.they used propaganda about turkism to entice the turks to fight against the russians,which they did,this was also aimed at attracting turkey to join on germanys side.

after the death of ataturk hitler was said to have commented that 'the old empires of the east do not worry me,as since the death of kemal the turks are lead by cretins and half idiots'.

the nazis wanted as much help as the could get,so they absorbed the turkic people in russia into thier ranks and thus the creation of the turk ss divisions.

as for nazis today,they are just thugs with no respect for people,history,nothing.

There was only one Great War that was WWI.Turkic people not Turkish were recruited by the Nazis to fight in Russia.

1: That people with designs for global ethnic cleansing cannot be relied upon to follow normal rules of fairness or logic.

2: Neo-NAZIs know very little about history, less about loyalty and virtually nothing about "common" sense.

The ONLY reason why Turk, Turkic and other Muslim ethnicities (Chechens, Circassians, Balkars -Turkic-, Tatars -Turkic-...) of places like Crimea, North Caucasus and of course, Central Asia allied with Hitler was to get rid of the biggest brute of all times, Dzhugashvili or as he preferred to be called, Stalin (*). In Crimea, for instance, the Muslim Turkic population helped the Germans on the condition that they would receive their independence when everything cooled down. Of course Hitler's sincerity was highly dubitable, but still, they sided with Hitler out of necessity rather than their passion for racial theories. (I'd like to add something, because I have an idea about who you might be. The way you word your question, my 'Greek' friend, makes Turkic ppl appear like fervent Nazis which is BAD. Ok? It is BAD. The only good thing Hitler admired was Wagner, the others, his views on races, were worthless.)

Well, some Turks in Turkey wanted Germans to win the war so that Turkic people may at last be freed from Stalinism, a wish that is only natural. Unfortunately, the prospects of Caucasus and Central Asia are still doomed with traditional, stifling, Russian foreign policy. I don't know how possible Pan-Turkic ideas seemed then, but today, nothing of the kind seems likely.

Turkey's official policy was neutrality, with clever manoeuvering between both sides, Turks managed to stay out of a war that might have produced serious consequences as regards to Turkey's sovereignty. IN addition, Turkey DID join the war in 1945 on the side of the allied powers.

Your question is misleading because you didn't make a distinction between Turkish people of Turkey and Turkic people of Central Asia. There was no recruitment of Turkish people (citizens) of Turkey at those times and The Republic of Turkey was neutral from the beginning. That Turk ss division you're talking about has nothing to do with and certainly do not represent the Republic of Turkey.

I find a lot of common between the Nazi and the moder Turkish state. The love for symbols and icons, worshiping the supreme leader, the love for the Army, Army's role in the politics, the Genocide, the attacks on the minorities of Turkey, atheism and oppression on the believers (described as secularim), torture by the police, the attacks and procecutions against the communists Turks and the illusion of a whole nation of being something they are not.
