Netherlands guys - are they worth dating?

Any good/bad experience? Cultural differences between them and UK would be helpful.

i think doesn't matter where they come from - Holland, Italy, India, America or China... it's character of the person itself.

But Dutch guys ? Why not?
They're also human.

I think we're ok. If there's a Dutch guy you like I'd say give it a try :-).
Unfortunately we don't have the British sense of humor (which I think is much funnier, but that besides). The average Dutch guy is quite tall, and we generally speak at least two languages (Dutch and English) and often a third or fourth (German and/or French) but I don't know if that is very useful in a relationship ;-).

@ Vincent V: according to a survey taken by TNS Opinion for the European Union, only Danish people drink more than the Dutch... In the last 30 days 81% of the Dutch people drank an alcoholic beverage and 84% of the Danish people.

ps. Qwikbrownfox, I don't hope that last scared you off, it's not that every Dutch guy drinks a lot :-P

Dutch guys drink less alcohol than British guys, but who doesn't?

If you like tall guys, they're the ones to look for.

This can only get the answer :
Yes and No.

Yes, there are dutch guys decent enough to 'date'.
No, Holland, as any country, has its share of idiots.

I would like to think I belong in the "decent" category, and have many friends that would fit in there as well.

The main thing is - do YOU like the person, for in the end, YOU decide if anyone is "worth" dating.

Klaartje
Generally spoken Dutch guys are quite open towards most issues but can be loud from time to time. But honestly I do believe there isn't much difference in general between UK and Dutch guys. It depends on the character of the guy itself. And not from the country he lives in.

Velouria
I have no experience, but you should be calling them Dutch!

I think the main difference is that the Dutch in general are less polite when held to English standards. We're so direct that we're perceived as blunt or even rude. You could call it "open" though, that has a more positive ring to it.

More open-minded too, we're not living in splendid isolation, if you'd like a cultural argument to back that up :)

More emotional, not like Italians, but the average Dutch won't use words as "unfortunate" to describe a tragedy.

Oh, and we're far better at soccer/football of course ;-)

Lisistrata
Well, I am southern, so I find a huge difference with the guys from the north. They don't look at women, they rarely flirt with them... Well, my apologies for any dutch guy reading this who might feel this is an unjustice, but that was what I felt when I was there!
I have met some english guys as well and they are not much different from the dutch, I am afraid. Therefore I would say you should feel home there. :-)
But if you want to know my opinion, try a latin guy for a change and you will know what a real man is! ;-)

Pam
Dutch men are the tallest men in the world. They average at 6'1" tall. British men average at 5'10". I am going to be in paradise when I visit Amsterdam.

I have been with a Dutchman for nearly 14 years and he's lovely. Nice and tall, looks after his body, cooks, fixes my computer, plays music, does photography, hoovers, is very sweet and funny, and absolutely brilliant in bed.

Dutch men have my vote!

I'm looking at this from another angle, my dad is Dutch, my mother English. Stubborn, tight, drinks alot. On the other hand he's very hard working, great with kids - odd sense of humour though!

Where am I?
I am originally Dutch, but I married an American, because I didn't find any decent grown ups there.
