Well, France are not building camps for this, primarily because Turkey are a long way from achieving membership of the EU. Turkey first has to move towards the modern European concepts of human rights before most countries would even consider this.

I suppose one could say that Turkey's accession to the EU will coincide with the US's removal of the embargo on Cuba and the unrestricted opening of its borders with Maxico.

I wouldn't care much if Turkey did join, what annoys me, is that somebody, who isn't even part of the EU, who is nowhere near the EU, and has, as far as I know, not too much influence in or around the EU, waltzes in and tells us what to do.

Well then the French have gotten rather late on that one since we finished building our accomodation camps for both French and British a long time ago around an area called Marmaris and Antalya in Turkey.
I will bet you anything you want, that the amount of British we have in our accomodation camps outnumber the people on the coasts of England at all times. And if this is bugging you or any of your racist friends, then tell them they can stay at home and enjoy the rain.

All this is nice and well, but the fact is that when we were going on a road trip to Europe, it was France that granted us the Schengen.

I believe they WANT us there. I can't find any other explanation.

Besides, in a short while I will be roaming freely over there and noone will be able to do a thing. I will be holding a fistful of Euros, if people in the tourism industry are interested.

Obama as most Americans seem to think they are in charge of the EU it has nothing to do with him.Turkey has been a candidate for EU entry for years but the application wont be considered for 10 - 15 years (EU estimate)as Turkey has been told it must conform to EU standards which it is nowhere near yet .

France/Sarkozy doesnt want Turkey to join the EU first of all. And I respect that.. if Turkey joins the EU then who is next? there should be a geographical boundary when it comes to the European Union.
The US want Turkey to join the EU for reasons that would be advantageous to us. Turkey does play a big part in NATO.

i think he's wrong.ok i wanna Turkey to join the EU but Turkey's not ready for it.if we have just national problems, it's ok but we have more problems which we have to solve.

im TURKISH and im strictly against it!
the majority of the turks in turkey DONT want Turkey to join the EU, its the people in the government!
im a british turk, and the majority of the brits here in the UK want out of the EU.
the EU is corrupt and has no benefits what so ever!
Turkey is not fit enough to join the EU, the treatment of kurds and human rights issues is horrific and needs sorting out.
our prime minster is the worst thing that has ever happened to Turkey, he seems more concerned over the headscarf ban in turkey rather than the poor and unemployed! he has made several speech's where he has slyly indicated that he doesn't want turkey to stay secular. this is against the majority of the turks will!
and now that we have to send more troops to Afghanistan when we already have more than 900, when it doesn't concern us makes me hate obama even more. we got our own problems already. im pretty sure the majority of the brits wont be happy either to send even more troops.
we need to sort out our own problems before we have the EU making other demands! and first on the list is getting rid of our stupid prime minster that is a threat to our secular government.

Well, if Turkey should or shouldn't join EU is not something that has to do with Obama.He is the president of USA and not from a EU country.
