Thank you all for remembering and saying such nice things on this special day. As it is a Saturday, we celebrated it yesterday.
It is always a very special day for us since we are a teacher training academy, every year sending a group of new teachers into the army of education and enlightenment.
The mayor of our town presented us all with a CD that the municipality orchestra recorded for teachers (teacher songs). Then our institution presented plaquets to all the retired teachers that served in our academy. Finally I and our music teacher were presented a plaquet each for having been in the profession for more than 25 years (31 years in my case). Students gave us roses each. Then all my students lined up to kiss me and tell me how much they loved me. I almost burst into tears.
We ended the day with live music by students, snacks and fruit juice.
I have also been getting phone calls and text messages from my former students, who are now all young and enthusiastic teachers.

I have to call a lot of people. Family members and friends and my elementary school teacher, my high school teachers.
I love all teachers no matter who they are.
And i would like to dedicate this famous quote of Ataturk to all teachers:
Teachers: the new generation will be your devotion. Our true mentor in life is science.
Teachers are the one and only people who save nations.
And to the students: Study hard, believe in science,art, music. Learn as many things as you can. Read a lot. |

In New Zealand we celebrated it on Oct 24th...hmmmm
anyway one of the pre-schools where I work had the teachers being students and students being teachers...lucky I was not there to see it! |

November 24 is a Saturday so i wont congratulate teachers :] they're rude and obnoxious.. ill only congratulate one teacher bc she's the only nice one in the entire school |
