Tell that ignorant that we the Portuguese are the LEAST mixed people in the western world. This historical fact was already proven genetically also.

The arabs were here for 300 years, but before them the romans were here for 600 years and NEITHER of them were in sufficient numbers to leave an important genetic mark. the model of colonization of both Empires was based in a small elite of rulers and militaries that ruled over the already existing people.

Most of us portuguese are the direct descendants of the pre-historic tribes that always lived in what is now Portugal. These pre-historic people became known as the MEGALITHIC CIVILIZATION that started here in Portugal around 9000 years ago, the same age most standing stones stone circles and stone graves are. Over the millenia this people migrated north along the Atlantic Coast to northern Spain, France, England and Ireland, the most famlus megalithic monument being also the newest, it's called STONEHENGE...

This civilization 3000 years ago became the CELTS which also are totally portuguese of origin and that also migrated north to the rest of Europe. The oldest celtic monuments are here in Portugal and even today genetic tests link us, portuguese to the so-called "dark-irish" the descendants of the celts.

To this day the Portuguese are known as LUSITANS the name of the most important Celtic Tribe that lived in Portugal.

And our appearance hasn't change in many thousands of years, we are naturally mediterranean, dark hair, dark eyes, tanned skin like ALL the mediterranean people, also very old and with very few changes, the spanish, the southern-french, the italians and the greeks.

Just ignore such an infantile, plain dumb comment of someone who has NO idea on the ethnic backgrounds of people. He probably doesn't even know, that Portugal ONLY had 2 colonies formerly in Africa (Angola & Mozambique) as far as I know...

Lots of my friends are Portuguese and I can proclaim that they are NOT "black" at all ...even though they have such nice "olive"-skin-type tan which looks soooo healthy ...-smile- They are very attractive looking people with a great mentality and spirit !

Just discard such an ignorant person, who doesn't even have the true facts right ! Don't get upset over someone stupid like that baby ! The world is full of such ignorant, infantile people...so just forget it ! Send you all my compassion and love for Portuguese people....Annette***

Maybe this guy was not referring to ethnic Portuguese people, but the people who invaded Portugal a long time ago. In every country there are minorities, but it really means nothing. My family is Portuguese and they are all white, but I do know people who are from Portugal who are not white. That just means they have a different ethnic origin. It doesn't matter whether or not the people of Portugal are white, black or some other color. If your Portuguese it shouldn't matter. And why should you care about someone who said something false if you know in your heart what's true.

I'm Greek, and I know how people like to make up lies about ethnicity and history. Some crazy person on the internet also called the Ancient Greeks black and Alexander the Great Slav ( NOT TRUE). Portugal maybe perhaps imported some slaves to Portugal to work in households but not many. Most went to work and die in plantations in Brazil. Slaves in Brazil had a short life expectancy and never worked in households of whites so there was not even an opportunity for the slaves to copulate with Portuguese.

Any dark skinned individual that existed on the Iberian Peninsula came with an invading force and was not native to the region.

Absolute rubbish, only a stupid American would say that. The Portuguese, and Iberian people are as white as the average "White American", if not whiter. The concept of mixing with Arabs is largely rubbish, there is very little if any Arabic mixture in Iberia. Prehaps in little pockets in Southern Spain and Portugal, but otherwise, none.

The Iberians are white people, and anyone who tries to deny that is ******* stupid and very misinformed.

Those videos you quote were probably made by jealous Brazilain ****** who know they'd be nothing if it wasn't for Portugal, they'd still be swinging from tree to tree in the jungle and fighting eachother with spears.

who cares if they are black or white they all live together good just leave it alone and most Portuguese people are of black ethnicity.
