Hm is a disease all you are worrying about? Use a rubber. You will be safe so will the prostitute.
But why go to Amsterdam when there are lots of prostitutes from eastern Europe lured into prostitution? Visit locals and you can have more confidence that they are not forced. Isn't the thought that they are not forced part of the fun? Anyway, not what you asked. Back to Amsterdam
Here is the theory. The new law introduced in October 2000 clearly makes prostitution legal, subjecting it to the municipal regulations about the location, organization and the practice of business. The authorities try to regulate prostitution, aiming at protecting minors, eliminating forced prostitution and combating the new phenomena of human trafficking. The city health services inform the prostitutes about a free or low -cost clinic for sexually transmitted diseases, provide free or low cost medical car.
Still: do not take risks and accept the prostitutes have a right not to accept those risks as part of the job: use a rubber!
Anyway, without making a moral issue of this follow the links below and have fun. Hookers.nl give a description per address. http://www.hookers.nl/ |

i think it's pretty well controlled over there as far as testing for std's...just use protection... |

For employment and legal reasons all prostitues in Europe must have a monthly "inspection" from a doctor and their "card" is date stamped for another month. Any legal brothel the girl must present this "card" when asked by a prospective client.
No card - choose another brothel as that one is not legal. |

It is very safe in Amsterdam and the working girls are frequently checked.
Ignore the politically correct brigade. |

I had sex with 8 prostitutes in Amsterdam. No diseases. Make sure you use a rubber. |

Well. There's a high chance. But prostitution is legal in amsterdam so they take more precuations and get checked.
You';ll still be taking a chance but do what you do. |

you are always at risk with a prostitute; just use protection, and the prostitutes are usually friendly in amsterdam |

there is always a risk but what the hell, you only live once.
PS, Don't those brothels test the girls for STD's?
They make alot of money from cat houses. you figure they would want to keep a good reputation for being clean so people come back. |

Why in the world would you travel all the way over there when there's so much free stuff walking around in the US ?? |

Well, there are routine health inspections, but really - is this why you are visiting? There is more to Amsterdam than the red light district. Eventually you are going to get a disease. Think about the odds.
I really don't understand why you would want to visit one in the first place. |

The prostitutes are required to register with the state and they have regular mandatory medical exams...umm...or so I hear, anyway. |

It's the oldest profession in the world. It might even be recession proof. Do your part for the economy. Seriously though, legalization of such activities tend to mean a stricter regulation and standards of health. You're probably safer with a well known location in Amsterdam then some random 'Roxanne' on some shady street corner in the US. |

I think you just broke the record for number of answers in this category; congratulations!
Whether you have sex with a prostitute or with someone who isn't a prostitute, you should educate yourself about std's and what you should do to protect yourself from catching one. This is probably not the best place to do that though. |

since it is legal it is considered an occupation. to get the job one of the requirements is to take tests for stds. so yea it should be pretty safe. |

I doubt if you could get a Pro. in A'dam who wants to do 'it' without protection.
if you can... walk away (prob. an eastern Euro girl lured into the businees)
but I am sure they have a draw full of 'con-DOOMS"
and I have to say this:
WALL street in N.Y. was named after the street in A'dam (Wal Straat) where nowadays you can find the prostitutes
well, in 200 years and 2 continents, nothing has changed....
you get F@ck-ed
they take your money

You'll be fine and there's nothing to worry about.I've been with three and didn't catch an STD by any of the girls at the brothels. The risk is always there, but that's why they invented rubber, condoms,or whatever you want to call them.I may be going myself during the summer,so I'll just have to wait and see.Tip of advice:You only live once live it well. |

Where do you think you are going to "go" with them? They are in the cat houses, and you go to their rooms, you pay them, then you leave. You don't take them out on a date or anything!
Where Prostitution is legal, the girls are VERY regulated, and they have really good health care. It's good for business. And, I believe, if one were to contract anything, she would be sidelined until it was no longer contagious. Again, good for business. |
