At the moment app. 2.70ytl to the £.
If you can find EFES is not as cheap as it used to be but they now brew a beer called Marmara Gold buy in 1litre bottles for around 3.50ytl well worth it.
Don't buy wine with meals crazy price in Turkey stick to the local beer (Carlsburg is brewed in Turkey).

Try Pide and Lahmacun (sorry about spelling) cheap, filling a very good.

The currency is the lira and you get 2.498 to the pound, you will be a millionaire.Marmaris is quite a cheap place. There is a market once a week which is good, also a sort of a bazzar with lots of shops. There are lots of nice restaurants which are inexpensive. You must have a turkish bath they are great. If you are a male going with afemale just watch the turkish lads, they will not take no for an answer from a female even if she is with a male.icemiler is a nice place and next to marmaris there is also a market there

I went to Turkey from US, and prices in Istanbul, the capital were pretty reasonable. They have old and new Turkish Lira. The old one is worth nothing, but the new one is like 1.5 lira to one dollar. So its like 3 lira to a pound.
You can eat a meal in like under 10 liras. Not a fancy one, but a reasonable one.
for shopping, you have to do a lot of bargaining with shopkeepers. Offer like half of what they are asking.
enjoy your trip!
