I'm Russian and I live in Russia. I like Russian music and I know these singers, but I don't like any of them. Alla Pugachova and Kirkorov were popular in Russia about 15 years ago. My favourite Russian singers are Timati, Maksim, Dima Bilan, Banderos and Via Gra.

Little Witchy Girl
I know and like some Russian music. Serduchka is pretty bad. Do not like Seryoga - jus because I do not like the rap music. Galkin sucks - he is Pugaveva's new lover. Pugacheva's songs are all right, some are better, some are worse - she is the head of music Russian mafia.
Zemfira is the best!

Cossak
Kirkorov is everything and Pugacheva is big song bomb even now,but Kirkorov mostly popular in out of country(out of Russia),Pugachiha everywhere, but she is an old fat woman, its sad...Seryoga popular, but i dont listen him,Serdyuchka censored his future by song "Lasha Tunbye"(Russia Good bye) now he was attacked by fan in London,so Russia born him and Russia will set him...

I'm Russian, but I live in the US. I know all of the singers you listed, although I cannot say I like any of them... except maybe for Seryoga.

A flamboyant middle drag queen Verka Serduchka is actually a Ukranian comedian Andrey Danylko (born 2 October 1973 in Poltava, Ukraine).

Seryoga is a second-generation Russian language musician with growing popularity. Born in Gomel, Belarus, Seryoga grew up in a tough neighborhood. His music became a unique combination of Russian folk music (chastushki, which features fast pronunciation of lyrics) with modern lyrics appealing to youth and beats — he quickly rose on the Russian charts with his first single Чёрный Бумер (Chyorniy Bumer, Black BMW E65 (760Li)).

Alla Pugachova is perhaps the best known musical performer in Russia, her career having started in 1965 and continuing to this day. She is certainly the most successful Soviet and Russian performer in terms of record sales and popularity. She has also recently befriended popular comedian Maksim Galkin, and the relationship between them has been the source of numerous tabloid rumours, even though there is a 27-year age difference between them, and both sides have repeatedly stated that they are just friends. The two often perform together in large celebrity-studded events, such as New Year's day shows, and have even had a few musical collaborations.

Filipp Kirkorov (born April 30, 1967 in Varna, Bulgaria) is a Russian singer and one of the top Russian pop-singers and ex-husband of Alla Pugacheva. His musical style is generic Russian pop music with occasional Turkish and Western influences and, like many Russian pop stars of the 90s and later, he frequently records duets with other artists working in the same field. Kirkorov represented Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 held in Dublin with the song "Kolybelnaya dlya vulkana" and finished in 17th place.

Verka Serdyuchka is not Russian music and, thank god, isn't Ukrainian music, either (this guy, Andriy Danylko is from Ukraine). It's classic "Sovok" at its best.

Pugacheva must be falling apart now from age, drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. Her best time was mid 80s-mid 90s.

I haven't heard of others you mentioned. I sometimes still listen to some Russian music, mostly from the same period 80-90s - DDT, Alisa (before Kinchev lost his mind and became an "ultra-pravoslavny patriot"), Kar-Men etc.

freetrinity
Serduchka isn't Russian music. It is Ukrainian music meant that cleverly exploit the stereotypes Russians have about Ukraine and Ukrainians. Pugachova and Kirkorov are such an old news it isn't even funny. I don't where you dug all of this out but it is a wrrrooong pile :)

Misanthropist
Verka Serduchka is not Russian. And "it" is not Ukrainian either (I presume the Ukrainian people disowned "it" a long time ago...). Верка Сердючка - это эпатажное говно, ничего более. What fool decided to send Verka Serduchka to represent Ukraine on Eurovision??? They could have sent Океан Ельзи, for example...But then again when you look at what WE sent (some whores pretending to be schoolgirls), you stop wondering.

Seryoga... I'm tired of hearing "Cherniy bumer" from every 12-year old's cell phone. Russian rap is a joke. End of story.

Pugacheva...She used to have a voice, but know all she does is this hoarse croaking thing (if you've seen the New Year's programs, you'll know...). She's livng proof of what smoking does to people...

Galkin...He doesn't really have any talents. He can do decent imitations of famous people sometimes, but that's about it.

Kirkorov...Is he still alive??? Really, without Pugacheva he's nothing.

Anyway, as you might have noticed, I'm not a big fan of popular culture, so you'll have to forgive my rant. Russian rock is still holding on, but I'm afraid that some of the stuff is beginning to sound old and dated (even the new songs). Hopefully , there will be some good new artists that will come onto the scene by sheer force of talent and save us all from all that horrible "eat your brain and poke out your eyes" Fabrika Zvezd "music"...

i love russia! I'm moving there when i'm older!!!
