Umph...what would scare u? What does it mean "scary place"? Like in fairy tales? or like at the North Pole? what?
Well, try to google Gulag,if u r into history...It's a part of history...actually it's not a city...it was situated in the North of Russia..near Vorkuta. many people died over there during Stalin's period.
But if u r looking for scary places in nowdays...sorry, have no ideas.

Ahhh.....take Grozny Chechnya, its dangere for europeans there to be,but not so high risk as to go to Nazran'.In muslim cities they think that all european or asian women are a piece of sh*t and christian culture as other european society rules are wrong.

Lenin's tomb is pretty scary inside. Probably the most chilling place I've ever set foot in.

Every city has some scare place. In my hometown Ryazan I am afraid to visit alone caucasian bars.

Siberian gulags?

Siberia-- just e-mail me and I can send you a few true and scary stories that my dad's aunts used to tell him. (More like "ghost-type" stories.)

Like someone already mentioned, Siberia had gulags--prisons, where convicts from other countries where sent. They were tortured and killed there.

Theres many abadoned towns that are in ruins now. Many were abandoned after Communism ended because there was no money to provide water & electricity. One is called Vorkuta - its in the arctic circle & was a former gulag. Check out a youtube video - www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BwXJV8fhCo
