School trip to greece?

for april vacation my high school is going on a trip to greece for 10 days and the cost is about $2400. i REALLY want to go b/c i absolutely LOVE travel, only problem is i have no clue how i'm gonna raise the money. my parents will pay for some of it but i will have to pay the majority myself. but i'm 15 an its hard to get a job until my bday in january. so after i start working i have 3 1/2 months to raise the money. thats not gonna happen so my friend (who also wants to go but needs to fundraise) and i have decided to collaborate to make cash. my question is do any of u have any ideas of what we can do? she knows how to knit an i know how to crochet so we are gonna make scarves and hats w/ our school colors to sell at football games and such, also my church is having a craft fair in november we could sell stuff at. other that that please help! i DESPERATELY wanna go, i just need to figure out how.

Go to the local supermarket and ask to talk to the Manager.
Tell him up front your situation and ask him about being a courtesy clerk (bag person) or cashier. This should get you a considerable amount of money.
My parents sent me to Greece when I was 16 and my sister was 11, in 1962. My first trip to Europe and it was something.
Its worth whatever you pay. You will never forget the experience.
This kind of education isn't taught. If I had the extra money I would give it to you myself.

You are the perfect age for this kind of thing. And having classmates and teachers with you will be of great benefit. You
will need a some extra cash so you can do nightlife once or twice. This is just as important as visiting the Ruins by day.
Not so much to have fun, but to see the people when they are at a relaxed state enjoying their culture. One warning though.
Even though you will be permitted to purchase cigarettes and
alcohol, do not get drunk. Greeks love tourists but when a tourist gets drunk the Greeks lose respect for that person fast.
And it messes you up for the tours the next day.

Well you got already many ideas here. One thing that nobody has mentioned is you can ask your family and friends to give you money for your birthday instead of a present.Explain to them that although you do understand that giving money might seem kinda impersonal and it kinda brings them on the spot(since you will know exactly how much they have given you) you would really appreciate it cause that way they would be helping you to buy an experience and memories that will last for a lifetime!!
As for other ways to raise money, you got a pretty good idea with your friend already and you already got many great ideas from all those other answerers.Remember,it might be difficult in the beginning but it will be worth it in the end.
Best of luck to you,I hope you'll make it here,I'm sure you are going to love it!!

Babysitting, washing cars, cleaning homes, mowing lawns/raking leaves/shoveling snow (depending where you live).
Offer to clean up people's yards (pooper-scooper) for money.

Go through all your belongings and have a yard sale.

Buy candy or other snacks at Sam's Club or Costco and sell it to your neighbors, friends, and classmates.

yard sale, ebay?

Zusjy has a good idea. For Bday and Christmas ask for money rather than gifts. Do explain the reason lest you be considered an utter consumerist. Also, turning to capitalism, buy something useful and cheap and go door to door in your neighborhood selling it, explaining to the folks for what reason you are doing it. Girl Scouts make a killing selling their cookies. Best of luck to you. And may I contribute a little bit? Send me an email.

Babysitting can bring in some good money. Also if your up to it you and your friend can cut grass, thats what my cousin did. You could clean some peoples cars around you. Also in some areas you can put an add in the paper to watch peoples pets while their away and stuff like that.

Das ist mein fluch
Ask family and friends if you could do projects to help raise money. Good Luck. If you go it will be one of the best trips of your life.

Maybe you could get a gig cleaning houses, its like $10 an hour or more, or maybe helping senior citizens for a few hours a week.

Sell your old stuff that you don't use anymore. Like little stuffed animals, or barbies, if you have any still. Even stuff like play toys like those play kitchen things. Also, kinzi is right. When you sell all of this stuff, do a yard sale thingy, and sell lemonade at it. Not real lemonade though, just buy the big tub of the country time powder stuff. Charge about 4 dollars for each stuffed animal, and do a special, like 5 stuffed ones for $15. Charge 6 for a barbie each, but don't do a special on those. They will go too quickly. Probably charge like a $1. 20 for a close-to-full plastic cup of it. Not the teeny cups, but the big ones. More people will buy if they can see they're not being scammed. If you sell MOST of your stuff, it should bring in about 1000 dollars.

One of my best firneds went to Europe for two weeks and it was almost three thousand dollars. His church really helped him out by sponsering him and hosting a couple of dinners. They had a pancake breakfast and they also had a sapghetti dinner. Together the two raised almost 1500 dollars. you should try that

yard sale. babysit. get an after school job that pays good money. you can also make a deal with your parents to have them give you a certain amount every week or so if you do certain chores.

girl24gr
what greek students do in order to raise money for their 5day excursion, is to organize dances
i mean they rent a place(club or whatever) and invite the whole school and friends, maybe parents too, who have to pay a ticket in order to get in
and they money they make are used to lower the cost of each student's fare

I don't know what state you live in, but is it possible to get some kind of part time job like delivering newspapers, or something else you can do after school? (I live in NY, and here it's possible for 15 yr. olds to do very types of work.)
