Depends - for leisure ie: paddling, gentle swimming, snorkling etc then the sea. If it was swimming as part of a keep fit routine then a pool so you know how far your going and can stop when you need a breather

What is your question--which one do I prefer? If I could go snorkeling in a swimming pool, if I could sail a yacht in a swimming pool, if the clouds could take water from the pool to make clouds, then I guess I would prefer the pool. I listed all those other attributes of the sea, to show you why it is important to ask detailed questions. If you mean that you are giving away a property and we should choose a house with a pool or one next to the beach, then that is another option. Then again, you might be asking which is easier to maintain: a house with a pool or a house by the ocean--in which case the house with the pool is easier to maintain. Much more erosion will occur with your beach home.

depends on where you live, if you don't see the sea often then it is great when you get the chance to swim in it. Living in London you don't get this chance very often. The nearest sea to me is at Southend and it is full of turds. I love the sea around Greece and Cyprus.

The Indian Ocean is fantastic also.

Well, I wonder how come and people are so much addicted to chlorine and swim in pools! The Greek sea is blues, clear, clean and safe, what would anyone put his/ her feet in a pool?
