There are many things to consider:
Do you speak Turkish? If not, how would you feel living somewhere where you would be dependent on your husband for communicating with everyone from shopkeepers to social acquaintances?
Are you both working in the UK? Would you both be able to/want to work in Turkey? How would your earning potential compare? Turkey IS cheaper than the UK but you need to ensure that you can maintain your expected standard of living.
Where would you go in Turkey? Would there be support (or pressure) from his family there?
Have you ever been to Turkey in the winter? It's very different from the summer.
Living and working in a country is different from holidaying there as well.
If you can arrange a temporary move (3-6 months) whilst retaining a base in the UK it would give you a chance of testing the water, finding out about employment and accommodation prospects etc without burning any bridges.
Don't go to Turkey in order to escape the rut in England, ruts have a habit of following one.
By all means opt to live in Turkey for positive reasons that attract you to that place.
Good luck! |

Why not do both ? you can rent a decent flat for £250 pm in most places in the cities or coastal areas. try it for 6 months or so. |

You need to provide more info. Are you Eng. or Turkish. What kind of work do you do, are you educated beyond high school. If Eng. do you speak Turkish. Are you single or married. Are you financially able to travel, how do you support yourself. How is your health. Where are your relatives, if any. These are just a few of the facts YOU must consider before asking others what to do. BUT ABOVE ALL BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF. You can't run from problems, ruts if you will, such baggage goes with you. Life in Turkey is difficult, Istanb is modern but there is inflation , housing is not easily come by without a decent income. Look before leaping.. |

You did not state your reasons/motives. Are you talking about a holiday? school? work? or just retiring for good?
If it's for university education stay in England. If you want to have a peace of mind, move to a quiet town on the Aegean/Mediterranean coast of Turkey. |
