No and get out of the EU altogether. |
|

Mike Sanders
 |
No, for 3 simple reasons.
1 - the british pound is the 4th strongest economy in the world
2 - an estimated 74% of the british people dont want the euro
3 - All finanacial control would be lost to europe (interest rates etc.) |

Yes. Those who mention the Pounds' strength obviously haven't checked the exchange rate recently - it's now below $2 again, and I was only getting €1.21 for a pound last Friday where we used to get €1.40.
We've been consistently held up in the last 50 years by being unable to make up our minds about first whether we wanted to be a member of the EEC at all - we missed a huge chance to be involved at the very beginning when we could have influenced the basic rules of the organisation, then decided to get involved a couple of decades later and had to fit into rules which had already been decided by the French and the Germans. Now we've been on the sidelines while the euro has developed, but it makes no sense not to use the same currency as our major trading partners.
It is frankly obscene that most people get their opinions about the euro and the EU from newspapers which are owned by an Australian-American - be under no misapprehension, the Sun etc are pushing the interests of Rupert Murdoch, not those of the UK. |

so what? why do we need to be the same as them. most of Europe ran away during world war 11 mate just as well for you *** the UK didn't copy them then. so in answer to your question. no bloody way they can shove them up their ***, just like their anthem and flag. |

Cor blimey.

No. What's wrong with the pound huh? :) and plus... it would cost A LOT of money to convert... AND it could lead to price rises as shops may play on customers lack of knowledge about how much a Euro is worth (compared to the pound) and raise their prices because of this! too much hassle if you ask me! :) x |

No way, not when the pound is so buoyant at present. In the longer run, i can see it happening though. |

No, Europe should join the pound!
But seriously, yes, it would make things much easier when going from Britain to mainland Europe. |

this might cause a raise the prices of all goods in the Uk .
this in turn would raise the prices of exported British goods in other countries .
French and German goods are too expensive in the Middle East bec of the exchange rate of the Euro . |
|

kisser
|
Well if the UK does change to Euros I hope they don't get ripped off as we did in France with all the prices getting "rounded off" etc etc. |

Yes, we will soon as the Pound is devaluing soon. We need to distance ourselves from the US Dollar.
When the Euro gets stronger there are many countries that would rather trade oil revenues in Euros rather than Dollars. This will be like calling in the US debts and affect their economy. Anyone linked to the Dollar will be pulled down too. We are paying higher prices for energy now because of the rise in Oil Dollars as the US Dollar deflates (not quite accurate but the outcome is the same). |

Tammy
|
NO, definitely not! It will be used as another excuse to push prices up, just as they did when they introduced decimal currency. We have lost enough and suffered enough through being in EU, for Gods' sake lets keep SOMETHING! |
|

And Why Not?
|
No, but we should withdraw completely from the european union |
|
